New Tilta dsmc2 rigs

Received this info from an ebay seller

Ive emailed Tilta and not even got a reply to this yet from them. This is interesting, thank you for finding out that info Ben.

Didn't know that it wasn't enabled. Its listed on their product info. I'll be having words with CVP about this as i need Phantom Power. I've invested in mics that need it to work. I really don't want to have to be adding extra bits of kit to the rig till they fix it to make something ive spent thousands on to make it work.

Any recommendations for small inline mic battery solutions in the event of?

Hmm, so it wasn't ready for release, it sounds like. Why are companies selling "professional" equipment that clearly isn't ready yet? Similar can be said for companies that sell stuff with promise of key features that get delayed and delayed.

I think I'm just going to return mine. The SDI jack issue I'm having is annoying and looks very unprofessional, so I'm going to switch back to my RED I/O module and Wooden Camera stuff. Maybe down the road when stuff is a little more reliable, then I'll pick one up.

Hmm, so I was just testing out my system again before deciding whether or not to sent it back and it wasn't giving me the SDI jack issue anymore. Maybe it was a bug with the RED and it went away after the reboot? I also asked about the battery thing and they said only RED batteries display percentage. But if my PAGlinks work on the RED I/O plate, shouldn't they work on this?

why any company makes non arri standard dovetail is beyond me

yup.

Smallrig's new prototype with optional rosettes looks v promising!

Might have to keep an eye on this one. I have their generic Arri dovetail, but the knob sits under the RED body and only gets about 45º of rotation, so it's pretty annoying. I like how low profile the Tilta one is, but I'm annoyed they did their own plate (that wasn't included in the huge kit, of course)...
