  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

New project...

I love Google Patent search:

Ok, How about a head mounted device (in the form of eyeglasses or a hat or a helmet) that can can function as an intermediary for your cellphone or computer. Voice recognition, audio and digital displays, able to initiate actions in other device; Kind of like an apple watch but in eyeglass form but more features. Or even function as an independent communication device (in a helmet it could create an ad hoc audio and digital communications between motorcycle riders, or even a football team)

IBM ran a commercial in the 90s with a small headset that projected a hologram in front of you, a virtual computer screen, which had a Siri-like personal assistant interface which responded to voice-activated commands, so you could move around the contents of the screen hands-free. It looked really cool, but nothing ever came of it. I would still like one.

It's funny, well before the iPad, there was a company in Colorado called Q, which was building pad technology which used a variation of a Windows OS. I even visited a fully networked house, designed by an architect friend of mine, whose electronic devices were fully interactive, networked and could be commanded from the Q pad screen. Q went under, and a few years later, the iPad rode the tsunami of a zeitgeist which finally embraced pad technology.

Which technologies hit or miss can be very unpredictable....

I gonna side with Elsie on the codec, that it's a higher fidelity delivery system built around Redcode. Which possibly will drive a new consumer space and will likely be disruptive to at least 2 market categories.

Much bigger than a codec and much smaller than curing cancer.

Jim

I think we have a winner. M was talking about a high end delivery system built around redcode, but Jim only said it was bigger than a new codec, leaving out the delivery system bit. So is it the redray 2 player? (As Jim said we haven't guessed it band we already covered the red phone patent before, or Redray phone????? )

OK... just because you guys are trying so hard.

1. It is not world peace. I wish we could deliver.

2. It is not energy related. We will leave that up to Elon Musk.

3. It is not time travel. That is just not going to happen.

4. It is not saving wildlife. Although I am fully engaged in that cause.

5. It is not VR... which I think is as obsolete as 3D. No one has just acknowledged this yet.

6. It is not AR... which I think is doomed because no one wants to wear a headset. Think about it.

Every once in awhile everything changes. That's what we have.

In 2006 I asked everyone to trust me. We delivered 4k on a compact flash card for $17,500 when Sony was selling 1080P for $225K to an SR deck.

Once again, I am asking you to trust me.

Jim

Jim, can you just tell us what market segment please, that would be a help?

3 Phew, my time theories are safe.

5&6 my system does not require glasses. But you can build something into a light weight frame of sunnies to monitor the picture. But I agree on VR and AR, very market specific, but not saying it won't sell in those markets though.

Hey, does that look like Jim's garage? :smile5: Lol!

Electric Hummer (people mover)

Well, i doubt this is camera-related, but if.... Hasselblad announcement on 22nd. Maybe they a) announce a new owner and b) a total groundbreaking new MF/mirrorless-killer-type of camera? ;)

That would be way cool, I'm interested (Hasselblad phone even).

Beam forming Metropolitan Area wireless Network?

That's how my optical tower system works.

Yes. But if dark, like dark sunglasses, does not matter.

Jim really should think in terms of how good if it would be if a normal looking Oakley could do vr or ar and go variable electro chromatic tint free when not being used as such. So, it would just look like a paur of fashion glasses you wear all the time. Big sales. I could do up a design for that. I would love to work on something like that.

Now, we are heading towards a future where such an item can record 4k 3D with refocusing, like the new cameras, and high quality sound, and people would even know there was a camera in it to look at it. Batteries, processing storage, all built in. Think about it?

Most people don't think this way, because they can't comprehend his to do it.

Just re-edited the last post.

Worldwide pooling database that correlates progressive disease with DNA.

This Medical 'passport' could be carried with you, or stored in a centrally accessible location in the event you need treatment wherever you are on the planet.

It also provides insight of all known human affect pathogens to help determine what you may be suffering, or likely to suffer.

I don't see how a 6k phone would be interesting. We already have plenty of small 4k cameras and 4k capable phones. 6k doesn't add much.

Something ten times better even in 4k. Full featured, lossless 12 bit/+ codec a new 15 stop sensor (assuming it is a newer grade sensor) fine manual hand controls and interchsngable lens. That would be great.

I forgot likely a top notch anti shake mechanism.

A 6K phone? Really guys? The current camera needs a fan and a bigass memory card - not sure technology is there yet for a phone scale RED

RED OS and hardware customised to process and display 8k motion pictures.
Future spec to include 120fps 12bit display output.
Price, less than a mac.
