Just curious to see if anyone had a chance to play with this. Ordered mine and wanted some early feedbacks if any. Thanks.

The new firmware just came out so I doubt there will be any reviews until at least next week.

Gotcha. Curious, is there a firmware associated with this Nikon mount...aside from the recent B3.3.12?

Also ordered the mount. Looking forward to to it.

Will F-Mount lenses fit onto this mount? I have many old F-Mount lenses I use on my D200. I'm wondering if it's worth getting this mount to make use of them?

That's what I thought. I like having manual control actually.

Thanks.

Does the mount control iris on a G lens? I thought that I read somewhere that it does, but I don't see a manual control for it, so I assume it controls G lenses via the camera...

Hey Steven,

Apparently on the link I posted, certain G lenses will have accessible Iris and focus control. I'll test it out this week when it comes. Heading to Big Sur to do some tests.

Awesome, Marq...thanks!

I have 2 G lenses Nikon 17-55/f2.8 and the Tokina 11-16 w/ Nikon mount currently working with the OptiTek mount (which I am very happy with thusfar) - and I have a Zeiss ZF kit, but they are manual aperture...also curious about how the new mount handles the Ziess'

...that RED mount looks pretty damn sexy

Indeed...it does!

Just a quick detour if you guys don't mind...

What EVF are you guys using? I just tried the Z-Finder. Not bad.

Nikon AFS Zooms

Nikon AFS Zooms

I really really hope that they are going to support the older 17 - 35, 28 -70 AFS zooms. They are very special lenses.

Just an update...

So far so good! All the lenses mentioned on the tech list works flawlessly. Surprisingly my 14mm 2.8D ED also works...with the exception of the AF feature.
Love the distance reading on the upper/left also.

Yes, F-Mount will work, but older lenses won't have the diodes to support AF or Iris control.

I just received the RED AL Nikon Mount, and unfortunately, it doesn't seem to work with any of my F-Mount lenses. I have a set of Zeiss ZF.2 from Duclos.
Was really hoping to be able to not use ring adapters, since RED makes such solid locking mounts.

If anyone else has the ZF.2 set a word of warning, or let me know if I'm just missing something. I literally installed the mount 2 hrs ago.

Is the Angenieux 28-70 2.6 AF supported?

Just by curiosity as I'll work mainly manually with it.

What does the lens need to be supported?

So.....I'm an idiot. In my excitement, I reinstalled the Canon AL Mount back onto my Scarlet, and could not for the life of me figure out why my ZF.2 lenses weren't fitting.

Zeiss ZF.2 F-Mount lenses work 100% with this mount.
