You are a self absorbed ass hole , enjoy Hollywood.
Paul,
When you dropped Final Cut, what NLE did you turn to? I assume you went to a different OS and platform as well? What about color grading software? Did you use Color, and what have you migrated to?
Thanks
Hey how about that new Mac Pro? Huh? Ahhhhhhh....
Never mind.
Ahhh- it is always so refreshing to come across someone who knows everything. And is smart enough to know that he knows everything. And is arrogant enough to tell people he knows everything. And, on top of all THAT enlightenment, can still be so humbly ignorant enough to think that people will believe anything he says.
At my home studio for short form stuff I use both Avid and FCP7 and have been dabbling with Premiere (pretty damn good) and FCPX but every time I open FCPX...I end up closing it in disgust.
Paul, it is not so much what you said, but moreso the apparent sanctimonious attitude you took towards some folks on this thread who may have had had a different editing requirement or opinion than you do.
It is fine to disagree and voice an opinion, but there is a way to say and do everything. One which involves mutual respect. From your IMDB it seems that you do have a wealth of industry experience, and you seem to be a valuable source of knowledge and advice for this community.
It is not that anybody doesn't value you input, it is just the way it came across.
All the best,
Ivan
I have never actually used X myself... how does it handle migrating a project file from one system to another for multiple machine edits?
Gotta agree with Ivan, Paul. There are a lot of people on this list with a wealth of experience (many more than you, no doubt) in various aspects of high end production. Many of them don't have to let everybody know what their street creds are in order to make a point. So here's a tip. It's not really helpful to make fun of the kinds of filmmaking other people are engaged in. You end up demeaning their person. I've gotten in some stupid arguments on this list that I later regretted. Humility is a powerful attribute that can go a long way toward making your point. It's way better than bluster. In the end, you'll feel better too. My two cents.
