  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

NEW GROUP BUY: MICROREMOTE WIRELESS FOLLOW FOCUS

Can the Microremote start and stop a camera?

Yes, the microREMOTE has run stop ability.

Getting mixed responses as to whether MicroRemote can roll/cut a camera. It doesn't seem to have a dedicated port for this, and there are no run/stop cables on the website. RedRock support was also vague on the issue.

Needing to manually roll an otherwise remotely-controlled camera is a deal breaker for me.

Can you use your contacts to get a definitive answer?

Just a matter of determining specifics of RED compatibility for the Run/Stop.... maybe a custom Lemo?

The definitive answer is YES. They are working on the cable now and it will be ready when the item ships.

The microremote will positively have run stop functionality.

I've used it twice, once with CP2's and once with zf's. The small size is really cool.

How responsive was it? Instantaneous like a Preston? Did the motion of the lens seem like you were turning a physical follow focus? Could you do minuscule focus changes, like half the width of the witness mark?

Both times I had an AC, so I only played with it briefly. I was pleased with the responsiveness, the handwheel had a smooth dampened feel. I've never personally handled a Preston, but i have used a bartec a lot and I like this way better. The auto calibration is so great. Reverse works fine. I believe you can set 2 points and map a full turn if you want. We did not do this though. This is by far their most pro product. But dont expect it to be an industrctable tank. I wouldnt want to drop the controller. Although we did and it was fine, the antenna is vulnerable. The cables are solid and again, the reciever is super small. The finger wheel works well, I briefly played with that. You can do small pulls. I don't think anyone will regret their purchase.

so does this only control one motor? or can it do 2 (thinking 1 focus and 1 aperture)?

Good morning Redusers! This Group Buy has been up for less than 48 hours and we are already almost to the midway point! Keep in mind that these units will ship in the order the orders are placed, so if you wait until the end to place your order, you'll be waiting until the end to receive your unit.

What happens if more than 50 want in on the group buy - or is it limited to 50 only?
