  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

New Fast Prime Set WOW

I love Sanjin,

He often link us to the most interesting subjects. Yesterday He made me discovered Mr. Berger's work.

Sanjin, keep them rocking! And don't bother about those who don't recognize your wisdom!!! :thumbup1:

Pat.

Pat,

I'm just thinking these days to drop Euro 5000 to Academy course to become the Master of Light and Lighting (MLL)

at the LIGHT ACADEMY BARTENBACH in Tyrol, Bergferienort Aldrans, Austria.

If not right now or next semester (still didn't decide) but pretty soon for sure.

My bachelor degree thesis at the University was about History and Development of Lighting Design in Theatre.

Btw, Christian Berger AAC deserves an Oscar for Cinematography this year.

Mitch, Band Pro won't be a sponsor of this forum. It would suggest that RED is actually drawing a lot of attention and a large user base. How would one sell an F23 or F35 if people knew you acknowledged this fact (if your sponsoring their site and all).

That would require giving merit to each system out there and pointing out not only the weaknesses but also the strengths of each product on the market and that simply wont do. Busting you balls Mr. Bravin

Anyone know where I can get a Aaton Penolope Avatar?

You're not really busting my balls Michael, those that know Band Pro know they are fair and balanced and honest folk. They have a good team. It was a privilege to have the ride :-)

I was asking myself the same thing yesterday... but I have children to feed, dog to walk and some pictures to do...

Would be great to spend time only thinking about light!

"Das weisse Band" has IMHO the best photography in those last 10 years.

What was this thread about?

Pat

Way too much entertainment here to close this one down.

Exactly. I figure I've saved at least 10 bucks on entertainment expenses over the last couple of weeks just by checking up on this thread. :biggrin5:

"Das weisse Band" has IMHO the best photography in those last 10 years.

That's a bold statement. What would count as numbers 2 and 3?

Dunno 2 and 3. Did you see "Das Weisse Band" ?

It's my favorite photography since... some time.

Pat

I've not seen it yet, but the photography does indeed look beautiful. I'm looking forward to seeing it. I asked what your #2 and #3 were to get an idea about your tastes in such things. Are you saying the cinematography was better than "In the Mood for Love" for example?

I would say yes... because it's not "just" beautiful (Boyle's photography is also incredible). But here Eastetics & story are in a perfect match. I repeat, this is my humble opinion.

Pat.

Can we get back to making fun of each other now?

I'm with Mitch on this one, we were actually getting somewhere in our war of words there, and then got interrupted by this ... deep appreciation for the cinematic arts.

What's up with that? We have petty accusations to make here, ok?

PS Pawel, Michael has a hot german girlfriend named Alexa and he is spending all of his time with her now.

PS Pawel, Michael has a hot german girlfriend named Alexa and he is spending all of his time with her now.

"Alexa" has a gender issue, his name sounds a little bit "masculine" or "gu(a)y" if we are talking about him as a her or

a "girlfriend" so he(?) or she(?) could be more as a "boyfriend" in that way. :smilielol5:

That gender problem could be solved soon and also could be related to the sensor resolution size that is still not clear (3.5K or 4K) !!!???.

Alexa has a Russian mother (sensor design), an Austrian father (camera body design) and

he is born in München, Germany (camera concept and manufacture) @ (Freistaat Bayern/Bavaria).

He or she is code named "{Alexa Aleksey Romanov (Russian)} {Johann Brüno Otto Graf (Austrian)} {Ludwig Friedrich Wilhelm III von Bavaria (German)} ".

According to some of the rumors there is one information that Vincent Laforet is definitely not going to use "Alexa" for his next feature

even with super fast, titanium build and lightweight Leica's Mystery Primes but he could maybe use them with another digital acquisition system.

This news still can't be confirmed but as we know that he is in a desperate need of super wide and very fast lenses

that Canon doesn't have and will not have them at near or far in the future either.

Arrflex PL mount for Canon HD-DSLR cameras was already confirmed by two manufactures.

Also Mr. Laforet claimed several times that Canon 1DMK4 has the best noiseless picture at high ISO (6400) or even higher...

but suddenly he met beautiful Mademoiselle "Moiré" a French femme fatale and also very famous artist, pattern painter and designer.

From the beginning on she started to make him a huge obstacles (he's married and has a kid),

he already tried to make her "invisible" but "paparazzi" using 7D video capabilities broke that deal very fast

and made that relationship visible to public eye(s)...

The last night he met one of his old friends that has RED ONE camera and the friend confirmed him that M-X upgrade starts next week (!?).

Vincent saw that as an opportunity to get rid of Mademoiselle "Moiré" for some time

but right now he is not sure when his friend is going to get in line for the upgrade.

His friend's R1 has the number #7000.

Mademoiselle "Moiré" (she is a native French Polynesian beauty) knew that very well

and right away she took Vincent to a sort of "business vacation" at beautiful French Polynesian island of Bora Bora

where Canon gu(a)ys have Annual Meeting for 2010 to define their brand new HD DSLR strategy.

He still feels dizzy (from "Moiré"'s magic pattern), also a bit confused, trapped and gamed by both, Canon and Mademoiselle "Moiré",

but have a great hope that his friend with R1MX can finally get him out of this mess soon...

Simultaneously Alexa took the flight with the private jet owed and piloted by a former main Arri representative from Hawai to Bora Bora.

They want to show Alexa's brand new capabilities to Canon gu(a)ys and Mr. Laforet but because of his sort of a gender troubled paranoia

he will try to avoid that meeting and will spent that night with a beautiful French woman Mademoiselle "Moiré" (again).

He counted like this: It's still better to have a beautiful women "Moiré" in bed than Alexa's "German/Austrian/Russian mix of transvestite and kemp style type of sensor"

before his friend with R-1-M-X will come and get him out of that horror in a wonderful, colorful, crispy and a pure 4K world of a big theater screen projection.

Also he took immediately three of brand new Leica's Mystery Primes that he found in front the door of his exotic Polynesian style of bungalow...

He will give them try out this very night on his "Can(n)on" accompanied together with a beautiful French woman Mademoiselle "Moiré"...

Now on the screen you see and hear the songs and dances from Bora Bora, Tahiti, Pago Pago,...

The first part of the show starts...

To be continued...

Just kidding...:biggrinjester: :cornut:

I look forward to give her a good try next time she is in Sydney. :biggrin5:

BTW, how much is she (for the night and to own)?
