  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

NAB13- Dragon Sensor Upgrade Program begins

Sounds like the color science is or isn't done? I don't know- hard to tell. Will there be a new color space/gamma? How long will it take before these make their way into third party post solutions like base light, resolve, etc?

Color Science is not finished... Everything else is, minus of course Rocket support as that is dependent on the first.

Playback, Audio, all that other bits have been completed for quite some time. All that is left is making sure we get the best image possible.

That was a very short night !
Thanks and looking forward to more info trickling in today. Keep us posted !

I can't express how happy I am that 6K broke past 86fps and made it up to 100fps. Specifically 96fps is going to be utterly useful.

Congratulations and thank you!

Exactly my tough Phil, Dragon will be shooting lots and lots of 96fps footage for pulling Stills out of it, I don't think I'll ever go to 100 on 6k, but remain always in multiples of 24.

Nice, but man... Already UP??!!?? How many RED BULLS did you put in your Black Gallon of Coffee this morning... ;)

Ooooooohhh, as I type this, Red.com website is "Down for Maintenance". Shamelessly squealing like a little girl and constantly hitting refresh like a doped up lab rat, LOL!

It will be up in like 45 minutes. 9am Pacific Time.

Will the new Dragon OLPF have better IR protection as promised?

The Motion Mount is a great product - but it would be great if the new OLPF will also have better IR protection.
I remember reading that we won't need IR filters anymore once we upgrade to Dragon. Hope that's still the case!

Thanks for the hard work!
George

Looks like EPIC is about to have one hell of a make over, global shutters and dragons...I love the direction things are swinging. Excellent work Jarred and team RED, hope to make it to NAB to see some EPIC upgrade in the booth. Maybe these early cameras will be our 1st images coming down the pipe?

So are the initial upgrades using RC3/RG3 then?

Hi Jared,

How can we know if we are :-Early adopters can pre-order the upgrade for $8500 ($1000 credit when invoiced)

Or should I ask my Bomb Rep?

RED ONE is #6340

my EPIC X is #943

Thanks

Antonio

Amazing work and I can't even imagine how nerve-wracking the last weeks, days, hours before NAB (as the official target) must have been. Well done RED Team!

There was a thread the other day about who is and isn't an early adopter. If you put a deposit down before the first Red One shipped in 2007, you are considered an early adopter. Considering your R1's #6340, I would doubt you are:(
