  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Well, NAB is coming up, and product pre-announcements have already started. If anybody has any product news they come across, feel free to post a link here?

I speculate the Ursa Mini Pro might be the first of a number of bigger camera announcements or the last. I speculate the micro feature ecosystem might be getting expanded (if you read between the lines).

Jim's new project, or that camera phone, we just don't know about.
 
That's OK. I'm mainly interested in official pre announcements and things already reported. Anybody under NDA, feel obliged absolutely not to say anything.
 
Sort of a scoop I guess. Litepanel Astras and their Sola lights will be getting about 40% brighter across the board from what I understand.

Also in the realm of lighting, Hive's Wasp 100-C will be shipping soon. I backed their Kickstarter on that sucker and eagerly awaiting mine.
 
I'm expecting to see some sort of medium format cinema camera. Both Hasselblad and Fuji came out with new sensors, and are in a reasonable price point, so I would say someone will come up with these or similar sensors in a Cinema format. The big question will be storage and media!

A nice super bad ass Power Station from Blueshape, which will be showcased at NAB together with the new Granite TWO and Mini (V-Lock mount, the 3 Studs will come later on, about 2 months later) price should be in the 3k range, and it's also a Quad charger.

The Blue Shape stattion was at BVE. News Shooter got a good amount of information

I talked with people from RTmotion and SmallHD. Both will have "something exciting" to show at NAB though I'm pretty sure SmallHD is talking about the 503 and 703.
 
Damn, Astras are already insanely bright; a 40% boost is crazy!

I love my Astras, definitely one my most used pieces of equipment. I can't imagine them getting brighter, but I know I'll pick up a few of the new ones because you never know when you'll want more power.

They've been a rather big surprise for me. I was an OG CoolLights guy (and those turned into a green mess) and never liked the original Litepanels design or even light quality for that matter, but the newer Astras have been with me on host of shoots since Jan 2016. That new bulb/lens design is pretty nice. Very flexible and super compact.

If you're really curious I rig each light in it's own single light kit so when I call for one it's not in some dual case or whatever. We just fly one in and all the AKS are in that single case.
 
Cameras? Any red phone rumors, or BM camera rumors? Any camera? Any Panasonic dual shutter extra black LCD TV rumors anybody?
