Did I mention that this NAB will be quite eventful for RED?
Jim
Yes, I believe I heard that. Can't wait. One month from today. Airport to hotel. Hotel to Red Booth. Then wait on long long long line. Then buy scarlet? Oh and shake a few hands!Did I mention that this NAB will be quite eventful for RED?

First time to NAB, first time to hold a RED, first time seeing RED footage on the big screen, and first time to make RED friends...I cannot wait to experience it all. See you all there!

!) post production world.
2) ability to see RED RAW on a 60' theatrical screen.
3) mingle with all the RED manics. That should be fun.

Anyone else staying at the MGM Grand?
Managed to hold off booking it til after I sorted my flights and I was glad I did, as Southwest airlines have an offer that basically gets you the LAX to Vegas return flights for free.
Saved around $200. Think it applies to other departure airports in US aswell.
Would be great to finally meet some of the names on this board.
Tip for NAB newbies. Yes you can bring a back pack. Usually the will not inspect back pack. Yes comfortable shoes are important but the right socks are MORE important. Thin nylon socks defeat the comfortable shoes.
Don't for the life of you buy food inside the Convention Center. It's expensive and uh, not very good. Take a break and go outside and buy from the trucks or bring food and water with you.
If using monorail, better get out of the Convention Center by 3PM or plan on standing in a LONG line. Get your monorail passes online. Cheaper. Just google it. If staying on the strip use the free shuttles to and from hotels.
If visiting the Red booth plan on a long line Monday all day and Tuesday Morning and Wednesday Morning. Get up close and personal Thursday morning. Same with almost all the busy booths.
Take advantage of the "Pits" which are these free theaters spread all over the show floor. Its a nice place to sit for awhile and rest your feet, and learn something.
Take advantage of any and all evening events. This is where you can meet folks in a relaxed atmosphere and you never know who you will meet that might change your life. NAB is about networking. Not an easy thing for the shy, but find that inner person who is eccentric and out there.
