  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

"Missing Security Token"

I have it right now and can recreate it at the moment.
Posting quick reply to the greatest shot thread.

(But not this one)

I just got hit with an "invalid security token" warning. Ouch. Just trying to post.

something must have changed in the last few days that doesn't involve this site, b/c nothing has changed here, so it's odd that it suddenly broke... and for people other than those that it wasn't working for in the past (firefox users).

I even got it for the first time and I've never had it on reduser before.

anyways. temp fix for you folks.

if simply clearing your cookies and logging back in doesn't work...

log off. clear your cache and cookies. go back to reduser. scroll to the bottom of the page. on the left hand side is a drop down box. change it to the style that is called "def". log in. poof. you should be good to go. you can change back to the reduser 3.0 style. you should be able to log on and off with no issue as well... so long as you don't clear your cookies after that. if you ever have issue again, rinse and repeat.

in the meantime, I'll see what I can see about this..

BTW: How to clean the cookies in Firefox.

Go to Firefox>Preferences
Chose the privacy tab
Click on "remove individual cookies"
Search for "reduser"
Mark all those cookies
Click on "Remove cookie"
Quit Firefox
Restart Firefox

If that doesn't fix it, see Jasons comment above.

Still getting this on Safari. Posted a few times ok then BAM! Cleared cache and cookies and ok again for now.

I hope Reduser isn't going to have another heart attack!

Might help to know that I can fix it without clearing my cookies by going into another tread and then back to the one I want to post in.

Hi,

Had the problem with IE, then changed to Firefox, it worked for 1 post then problems. Navigating away to another thread fixed the issue...

I notice it comes up more often if I do a Go Advanced on a post rather than a Post Quick Reply. Annoying but I'll deal...

This is an issue for this Safari (Snow Leopard) user. Doesn't seem to be a problem on Scarletuser.com though.

Copy & pasting to quick reply seems to work.

if you are having the issue, make sure you follow the instructions in this post:
http://reduser.net/forum/showpost.php?p=594109&postcount=71

as a temp workaround. kinda working in the dark on this one, as it started out of the blue and was fixed months ago with no issues since. something has obviously changed... but, nothing has changed here... so, might take a bit to figure out what the deal is. in the meantime, the fix in my post above should correct the issue for you, so long as you don't clear cookies after that.

I keep getting this now while trying to post. If I sign out, i get an error, that says "click here to sign out", i click the link and sign out. I sign back in and I can post without the message, however the "New Posts" search turns up zero results when I log back in, until someone posts after I have relogged in.

I am on firef0x 3.6.3.

I am getting this as well, just started a few days ago. I am on Safari 4 on 10.5.

If I log out and back in, I have no problem. Very odd.

If I open the site in a new window it generally works too, and without deleting my cookies, so I don't have to log in again. Maybe it's coincidence but it seems to bear out for some reason.
