  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

May Update... The month of Raven

Likely was allocated in the 4/28-4/29 batch and then took a few days to pay then a few more to ship. Someone getting allocated for a S-W during May would be breaking news.

Now this doesn't mean we are going to catch up with all our Raven orders in May.. that is just simply impossible. But it should take one hell of a monster-huge bite out of the waiting list and give you Raven customers a well deserved bit of attention..

As for accessories, lots of good news ( again mostly with the result of our NAB push )

All 7" DSMC and DSMC2 LCD orders should be completely caught up by next Monday,

All Quick Release Platform orders should be completely caught up by this Wednesday .

All Battery Belt clip orders should be completely caught up by next Thursday.

All DSMC2 handles are now caught up.

DSMC2 Base Expanders are now caught up.

DSMC2 Jetpack Expandders and REDVOLT XL modules are also now caught up.

4.7" LCD's are caught up but new orders will be pushed out a few weeks since the influx of Raven package deliveries will be hoarding them. Same with V-Lock I/O expanders.

We are very proud of our recent success in hitting our ship dates... but we are also incredibly embarrassed at our failure to keep up with the demand and the painful que lines. So for all you Raven customers still waiting, thank you for your patience. Your day will now come a little sooner :)


O... I can imagine some Scarlet-W folks and some Weapon folks who may still be waiting for their cameras will not dig this message very much.... but we really need to give Raven a bit of love. I promise we will come back to you and hit your que with the same passionate vengeance after this.

For you Scarlet-W / Weapon customers that are waiting without the luxury of a backup camera and for whatever reason you haphazardly planned shoots in May because you felt you were very close to delivery , Brent has kindly offered to arrange a limited amount of Epic Dragon loaners for those of you you that really need to borrow a camera. Hit up your rep if that applies to you.

Thanks all. We are still a small little company making complicated things in Southern California and I hope this shows that we don't just care about the big dogs.. but the little ones as well. We love you all.

Good morning Jarred,

Hope this message finds you well. I tried to send you this as a private message but said you have exceeded your storage message so here it is ... I just wanted to start by saying congratulations on the amazing work the entire company is doing, especially the team at the RED store in Miami. I first met the team when I attended a training with Phil Holland and since then Freddy and Rita have been of amazing help clearing all questions I had, guided me and advised in different camera configurations. The Workflow workshops and Red Underground are an awesome platform for learning, and sharing tips to maximize the capabilities of the camera and meeting other family members (like Samir and others!).

This will be my first RED camera of many more to come as I humbly have a November RAVEN pre order and it is a decent investment for my budget. I am sure it will take my projects visually to another level and I am beyond happy to finally join the RED Family.

Dude, I'm 9/25 at 10:45am and I haven't heard a thing. Also, seems they're only allocating in Thursdays. Here to hoping I get my allocation this week! ��

Maybe this was asked already,. But for us folk who might be in the market for a epic dragon...will we see these go up as battle tested?!
 
Only a week left before those Scarlet-Ws and Weapons start to roll out again, feeling excited!

I don't think any of the loaners were new, I know the one I got had a fair bit of hours on it. I suspect they were either already battle tested or are specific to the loan shark department.
 
I have been receiving my DSMC2 accs and it teasing me even more for the scarlet w to come in. Hopefully i wont be too long in the list when it starts up again
 
Today I received my DSMC2 top-handle, minimags and card-reader.

Also received my new Wooden Camera V.2 Shoulderrig, dove-tails, RED DSMC2 Basic kit and a new SmallHD502 monitor.
So, I´m trippin. Ordered through a dealer in Norway, so waiting patiently on the rest (Brain, expander and touch screen).

I hope to get my hands on the rest within June, but it looks like I will get one more summer with my beloved 5D Mark III with magic lantern and C100 Mark II.
It´s karma, since I ordered the Raven the same night my wife gave birth to our daughter... I shouldn't be more excited for a RED camera than my own child.

But I am.

I will name my RED Raven after her.

Ok, enough with the weirdo post. (even if it´s true). I think we should be grateful that RED and the team is offering us a RED Dragon sensor for this price. It´s just amazing.
It is worth the wait, so lets be patient and understandable. They are working as fast as they can, and the fact that they spend time on this forum is just amazing. So thrilled to
become a RED member.

Anyone else waiting for the Raven in Norway? Would be nice to connect.
 
Well, it seems I will have to take my D750 out for some more video, as my UK Rep just informed me that they are still stuck with September allocations. Let's see how much we can get out of that DSLR until the RAVEN arrives :)
 
Hi, we just created a Vimeo-group called "Shot with RED Raven". https://vimeo.com/groups/redraven

Moderators will search through vimeo everyday to locate videos shot with RED Raven. (only Raven).
You can also add your Raven videos by yourself, but there will be a approval before it goes online on
the group, to keep it clean of videos that is not shot with the Raven.

If you are a RED Raven owner, also feel free to message me to become a moderator. It´s a group
for and by Raven owners.

My little guy, Cormac Martin Becker, was born last Monday night (May 16th) and he's made me completely forget about my order delay woes.

And of course, as with any other new gear, I had to lay everything out on a grid for Instagram:
