  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

May Update... The month of Raven

Yup, proper load balancing across all camera lines in June. Back to "normal", if you can ever call us that.

Hey Brent, I don't think it's an issue but I'm new to RED and the raven will be my first. After I ordered back in February I never got an email or call from my rep and was just hoping nothing was off with my timestamp just because I saw most people were reached out to after ordering. I have my email receipt confirmation and everything just wasn't sure about what comes after besides waiting for allocation.

damn these sigmas look like they were made for the raven, even the texture is exactly the same.
i shot a personal favor project last night, night shoot, low light, prores only for a client that wanted the look right out of the camera, no color correction.
i have to say, not only did the monitor pretty much exactly match what i later saw on the mac pro, but the prores is sooooo super clean, i was a bit blown away how black the blacks were with no noise what so ever.
awesome piece of equipment we have here.

After sweating bullets for the past few months, I'm pleased to say that I qualified and received a loaner Epic Dragon today just in time for one of my shoots tomorrow. Although the loan shark team gave me info within 90 minutes of being able to ship out in time (thank the camera gods I wasn't out on a gig yesterday) and there were no touch screens left, they worked with me to get me accessories that I could use with my gear (I already have mini-mags, mounts, ect.) so that I could control the camera (eg. sidehandle). So I really appreciate the flexibility, since I couldn't use most of my DSMC2 accessories with the Epic, but I am able to use my large mini-mags. Just got it all rigged up on the steadicam and ready to run around like a madman tomorrow, couldn't be more excited.

Josh, did you place your Raven order on 11/19 . You were allocated already?

My Raven was ordered on 10/28 and I switched to S-W on 12/21. I'm still waiting patiently.

I got the same FANTASTIC treatment. Got mine yesterday because of the great work of the Loan Shark team. Same deal on the touch screen but I also got a side handle so all good.

Oh man, I just read there's a bunch of us in the first page, who are luckier than the other and got an upgrade from S-W to W-Mg for good attitude ! It's awesome even though I'm not on the list.

This is the kind of attitude Jim is surely proud of, and probably why you are friend. Stick for the bullshiters, reward for the positive thinker.
 
In the middle of this incredibly long wait, my rep told me today that he is able to get out a loaner dragon to me by next week. Albeit without a monitor, but none the less I am very greateful that Red is making an effort to appease their customers in which ever way they can. Just want to say thanks guys, and thank you Brent for your diligence, I know you get around a thousand requests each day for many different customer needs, you are doing a great job keeping up with all of them and making sure the Red customers get the attention they deserve.
 
Hello Brent & Jarred! Guys thanks for everything!!! Dan and the RED Team took care of me, the whole process was amazing... I owe you guys so much... I am ready for ITALY on Monday

No words describe how thankful and blessed I feel being here with you watching out for us, and thanks also REDusers, you have been so great too... I'll be sharing pics during the trip. :)

PS: Brent, If for some reason, anyone needs faster their allocation when my allocation time comes, please I am ok to have my turn skipped if that will help someone else's needs since I will be busy in Italy until Mid-End of June anyway.

I am going to sit down with Brent and select some of you Scarlet-W customers, including yourself, that had a good attitude on the first day of this thread and I am going to switch your Scarlet-W order to Weapon MGs for no extra charge when those lines start up again.

Just saw what you did for Alain (been off the forum for a few days) I had been working with Alain on a bargain rate for his shoot if a loaner didn't come through, but I know how painful it can be to rent (even at a bargain) when your new gear is almost there. Alain seems like a really good guy so I'm happy for him and think it's really cool what you did for him.
