  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

March shipment Update - Weapon, Scarlet-W, Raven

Thanks for the update - our 2 Woven Weapons arrived after a weekend upgrade turnaround - amazing!

Its the accessories we're waiting for - 2 new RED EVFs - any ETA?
 
Thanks for the update! My dragon arrived at RED today for the MG upgrade so I'll hang tight a bit longer. See you and everyone else at NAB! I'm hoping you guys have a few tricks up your sleeve this year :wink:
 
I never thought I could even entertain having a Red camera. Now, one Raven has my name on it. I'll be at NAB next month and hope to meet you Jarred to thank you and your company for opening the line to people like me.
 
Jarred great news, thanks for the update. Will the 8K Sensors that are coming out at the end of this month be going out to guys like me or are you guys still build arsenals for the Panivision types? Understand either way, just too excited and can't wait to be my hands on one!!!
 
is it safe to say Scarlet W package order on december 11th will be allocated before end of April? Please Please answer this one Jarred. I have a film to shoot in italy beginning of May. I just want to have an idea as to know to either wait or rent a camera, which will be painful painful to do having to pay a few grand $$ renting because of lack of knowing if i will get the camera.

its difficult to say when Raven to Scarlet-w order will ship ("comfortable by the end of the month"). There's no way he could know that.

I would never rely on camera arrival when planning for a job. Put the rental request in early, make client pay for it. Cancel if SW arrives
 
Yikes. Raven preorders really come out ahead all around, it looks like. Those who switched to Scarlet will get it by the end of the month and those who kept the Raven order will probably get them before regular Scarlet orders go out. Disappointed to say the least. Raven switching really negated any shipping estimates we were given on Scarlet's preorder day.
 
Thank you Red team ! My DSMC2 bodies are making great images, and I and my clients have been very pleased. Stoked to see the NAB lineup - for me, that trade show is bigger than the super bowl.
 
Dan Kanes, you where also one of those crazy people that helped us to change our ways of making movies.

Thanks for the update. Loved my Weapon on the Netflix feature. Really was a godsend. Getting good feedback from my friends on Guardians with the 8Ks.
Can't wait to upgrade to 8K but understand the sensors are a tough one to bake.
Although Avengers 3&4 will be Alexa 65 I believe Trent wants some Weapons also and 8K at that.

Raven - Still right on track, We will be shipping our first batch of Ravens at the end of next week. This is a completely new line so it will take them a few weeks ( as it always does ) to get everything dialed in so expect a few dozen to come out of the oven at the first then jump to a ramp up into the first few weeks of April. Also, just a heads up, the price for Raven will be going up at NAB... so if you are planning on jumping in it would probably be a good idea to get your place in line before that announcement as we will honor the existing price up till then.

thank you so much jarred! this is all fantastic news. im glad the scarlet doesnt hold up the promised release date of the raven!
still my only question and last question(until i have the camera) is if you ordered a brain or pkg determine your allocation. like it did with scarlet, but now with the accessories available, hopefully it doesnt, because i had ala carte going, but now seems like the pkg will be the only thing to actually get me going right away.
plus, a raven case???? oh sorry, that's two questions.

I know Dan. Problem is that I am the Client. it's my movie. Lets cross fingers, and do I pre-order for rental just in case I guess. Which I don't know If I can rent here and take it overseas. Haven't asked the rental company that.

Too much hassle, I just hope I get lucky enough to get the Scarlet before end of April. I can push 1 week the film schedule no problem to make this happen and save lots of money.

Thank you for all your had work Jarred and team Red, you guys are truly the best. So happy to be a part of the Red family and can't wait for my Weapon upgrade
