March shipment Update - Weapon, Scarlet-W, Raven

The Scarlet-W as most of you know is already shipping and manufacturing lines have settled into a pretty nice stride with cameras flowing out in increasing numbers every day. We have had a very large group of Raven customers jump into Scarlet-W so if you are in that switch-over group, I am pretty comfortable saying you should be receiving your cameras by the end of this month.

Are we talking brain only orders? Or packages as well?

If you're able to disclose this would you say a majority of early RAVEN orders hopped over to W? Is that why this month is basically dedicated to RAVEN swappers? Just trying to get a feel for how many people are still on the RAVEN camp. I know its a lot. Of course it is! I'm in no hurry to get my RAVEN but I'd like to put some ink on my calendar with confetti...

Thanks for the info. One more annoying question. You mentioned pre scarlet announcement Raven pre order swappers for this month. Does that mean since I ordered Raven early January and made the switch I am unlikely to be in that group receiving by the end of the month?

RAVEN to W swappers are those who pre-ordered the RAVEN PRE W announcement. So if you ordered RAVEN after W was announced, your timestamp of early January carries over. So no, you would not be included in that group this month.

There were a boatload of RAVEN orders. And there still are. Queue is growing daily… But, of course, people took advantage of moving from RAVEN to SCARLET-W, so that is no small number in itself.

Hello Brent. I am willing to skip the package $ savings if I can get the Scarlet W (december 11 order) and buy accessories directly from red.com if indeed that will get it faster to me? I am shooting my own film (not a client) 1st week of May in Italy. It is for me very important to make a decision soon, of whats best, before dropping more than $6k in rental equipment

Any suggestions & help would be much appreciated. I just need to have an idea on what to do. Please tell me something good...

Alain, unfortunately, you are asking me to do something I cannot do. So many moving parts on all this, trying to project shipping windows for every person with an order would take a small army and me quitting my day job. All I can say is that since bundles ship complete, if everything is in stock, having a bundle or a la carte is a moot point. If some accessories are backordered, a la carte gets you your brain faster.

I would say that is a pretty big assumption.



Yes, if you are a la carte and a brain is ready, it ships. A package needs to ship complete, so accessory availability can hold up the entire package shipment.

One of the reasons we are probably going to focus on collections on RED.com versus bundles. Collections, you can edit the exact products you are getting. And they don’t need to ship complete, so you get what you get when ready. Bundles, I know a little bundled discount helps you and bundles help our supply chain forecast, but they really are a b*tch to administer as well as inflexible for you guys to create the exact package you want. The feedback I am getting is that flexibility trumps small discounts every time. Especially if you are getting a discount, but parts come with the bundle you don’t want. But, I digress…

We are feeling pretty good that we can make a case part of RAVEN bundle, just dialing it in for final call.



V-Lock Base Expander? Yes, people have gotten it. Production on that ramps up later this month.



Mentioned this on another thread. SCARLET DRAGON owners who did the SCARLET-W package do get a bump in priority, but still plan this month being folks who moved from RAVEN to SCARLET-W with pre-SCARLET announcement order dates.

yeah but all the accessories in the raven i/o v-lock expander pkg ARE available and have shipped to scarlet-w orders, so if we have the same pkg ordered with raven (very very early time stamp, probably top 5) it should be available, right?
i would hope scarlet-w pkg preorders wouldnt hold us up that stuck with raven from the beginning.

i also doubt the v-lock expander ala carte has shipped to anyone yet, if so, that is weird because i preordered it online literally the second it popped up, i happened to be on the red store page poking around and on a refresh it popped up! then about 15 minutes later you posted that it was now available online for preorders, so not sure how anyone could of got theirs that wasnt in a scarlet pkg.

anyway, with nothing else available, touch screens, v-locks, it doesnt make sense for me to be one of the first to receive a raven brain and have noway to use it. im going to call my bomb squad guy now and do the switch to pkg.
time stamp was sept 24th 9:50pm, though my credit card got charged at 9:47pm, so close!

If you guys make the hard-shell case happen for Raven bundles, then you, sir, and Jarred... are my homeboys. That case looks awesome!! I ordered two weeks after it opened (stupid, i know... lesson learned). Fingers crossed for delivery by 5/20. Project happening that weekend.

And according to Google - a "few" is anywhere from 3-5. Soooo I'd say a high estimate would be 50 going out.
