I have to say that I had my doubts that the first Red would ship in the Spring. I guess I'm just used to seeing delays in new product releases. Even with 85% operational software, that is a monumental achievement. Congratulations to the Red team. I look forward to hearing the new announcements at NAB.

I hope some kind of NAB video coverage is planned. For us that can't make it to NAB this would mean a lot.
Live webcam feed from the booth would be really cool.
Worldwide Redusers also feel as a part of this and would also like to see this history in the making.

Yes, webcam live coverage is great idea!!! Or any podcast.
plz, plz

:usd: :usd: :usd:

The attitudes at cinematography.com forums amaze me every time I stop by there. That's all I have to say about that...

Can we expect a price list for red rail, light weight support rods, other lens mounts, various brackets battery mount, cables, vf etc. etc. anytime soon. Gotta budget ahead. we'll all have cameras in the fall....whoooooppeeeeeee

It would also be nice to see a rendering which explodes the parts available (like in a lot of parts books not actually blow up) so we can see what each part is called... so we know what we want to order. ie (rear rail bracket with tighteners, short rear rails)

All prices announced in two weeks.

Jim

Great update!

Some of those people posting on cinematography.com are just trolls who wish they were cinematographers in the first place... They mostly just make me laugh.

I went to bed last night with a vision....
wierd.
At least I woke up in time to
jump on the 2nd train!

I have been figuring that the 400th camera would be delivered in "late summer." Does that sound about right?

At red, when it rains, it pours.

About the firmware thing, this is great. The idea of the camera's software being constantly upgradable is truly awesome. This is as much significant as the hardware being easily upgradable. This would mean that compatible features or widgets that pop up down the line will be available to all.

Goodluck with the final stretch! Were all rooting for you.

Great updates. Thanks for all the info. Can't wait to see your special surprise for reservation holders!

Does anyone know a doc who can prescribe a bulk order of Ambien for all of us so we can get some sleep between now and April 16th. I feel like a little kid again, Christmas is 6 weeks away and it feels like forever!

I keep going over to the window to look down on my car and the RED sticker on the rear door, then I smile ;-)

Nobody answered me yet,

but will there be some kind of special access for us redservationists?

I can't wait for NAB, but it will be stinky if all these ex-naysayers are circling your tent, pushing us keyholders to the side..

Should I bring my precious key?

Are you the keymaster or the gatekeeper?
