  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

I wish I could be there at NAB with you guys...but I start shooting a feature on April 18th....I actually wish we could push till June and then I could use the RED. Looks like I will be able to afford this baby after all, thank God!

the Summit is internal.. not a big public party so dont worry your not missing anything. Its just the time for Red to put everything and everyone together for a week and make sure everything is in alignment.
 
As a Sony HD owner it is such a pleasure to have a relationship with a company who speaks honestly and openly with the users.

If there is an extra Demo, or someone is foolish enough to drop out: how about a lottery among us high number folk?

No one yet has explained the camera software update process and I can't find any reference to it in the postings in the forum. I'm sure there will be additional updates and new features also in the future so It's of interest to us all.

I hope some kind of NAB video coverage is planned. For us that can't make it to NAB this would mean a lot.
Live webcam feed from the booth would be really cool.
Worldwide Redusers also feel as a part of this and would also like to see this history in the making.
 
Has there yet been an NAB evening event (screening/get together) announced?

Sorry to harp on this, but I'm booking my trip tomorrow and would hate to miss that night. Currently planning on Mon/Tues evenings in Vegas. Guess I'll just gamble... imagine gambling in Vegas...

Very much looking forward to this NAB... maybe the most in my 16 or 17 NABs...

I'm just the #111 :sad: and I placed my reservation/order just one day after the first announcement (April 24th -> 25th)... :shifty:

Has to be it.

I wouldn't mind paying down on the camera as you guys go.

We are very proud for this our bet. Where we've been committed since last October. After the first Emanuel's adhesion.

Seems like a good news to me.
Can't wait to see the first shoot test by early adopters.

And definitely can't wait to shoot our first Red feature as well!
I wonder what's the benefit that reservation holders have over non-reservation holder.
Hope it will be a good surprise..
 
Thank you for the update Jim. It is your openness and professionalism that has allowed RED to achieve such a long following. It's all about faith, and thanks to your hard work, you have gained the faith and trust of many. The future looks very bright for RED.
 
Wow. I wish I could find the time to just drop everything and go to NAB. I want to see it all. ...But I don't see that happening and perhaps it's a blessing that I can't go. I just save myself a bit of money to buy another RED DRIVE or two or perhaps the RED RAIL or whatever.

Production may be slower than you guys hoped for, but this statement says I will get my camera a few months before I expected to. Woohoo!
 
Thanks Red team sounds great.

Jim or anyone else on the RED team is there an expected date of when an approximate shipping schedule will come out (eg. 1-100 date, 101-200 date etc.). No rush on this but a general idea on shipping will be very helpful to be able to be budgeted and workflow organized for arrival of the camera.
