LEICA R on RED: Pictures

The trouble that I am talking about M Leica. Any ideas if it is possible to use from 28 with Helium?
Searching a lot about Leicas, my last point for looking for Leica M was article from Erwin Puts "Leica M lenses".
Any chance to use from wide angle?

Irene, I haven't tested this myself (have Epic-W but no longer own any Leica Ms).

After a quick search this is the most relevant thread I could find here but believe I've come across a more recent thread about this:

My best guess is the 28mm will work ok, especially below 8k, whereas you'll run into issues with 21mm.

Best solution? Pick up a nice Leica R f/2.8 19mm v2 :)

Looks great Kazu!

the Shortfall we made for the ShotoverG1giveaway by us was also shot on Leica-R glass. I just love them

Hey guys,

Wanted to put out feelers for a potential group buy with Cordvision. They are selling heat fir delrin gears from their site now and 80mm fronts with caps. I have a full set of fronts and caps for my Nikon set, but he does do a lot of Leica lenses already.

The price is already amazing at 49$ per gear, but with enough people he can probably do a little better.

Have a look, let me know what you think and if there is interest I will follow up.

Also, there is the possibility for 95mm press fit caps if there is enough interest.

Hi David,

I would need some Gears for my 90mm f2 and 28mm f2.8 (2 gears) and a step-up ring to 80mm with cap for the 90mm f2.

hope you can get something done
Reto

Thanks Reto!
Ok. I will update this post.

Reto - 3x gears 1x step up ring

Dovydas - 4x gears 4x step up rings

I have cordvision gears on my Leicas. They work really well. Very happy with his work.

Anyone have experience with the 560/400mm f6.8 lenses? Been thinking of picking one up to use for wildlife, but cant find much on them asides from really old photos online. Currently using a sigma 150-500 f5.6-6.3 but the rest of my lenses are Leica Rs(35,50,60,90,2X extender).

I haven't tried either but from what I gather they were great in their day but are out-resolved by newer designs.
Speaking of which, may want to also consider a 250 f4 or even 105-280 F4.2 with 1.4 and 2.0 apo extenders, which should both render sharper especially in the outer regions.
Also the amazing 280 f4 apo with extenders is stellar but pricey by comparison (and there's also the modular APO tele-lenses for a good bit more).

Hi, David!

Count me in on the group buy!
Looking to get 4x 80mm rings w/ caps (E 55), and 4 sets of gears for my Leica R set.

Thanks Dovydas

The magic number is 25 so tell all your friends.
