LEICA R on RED: Pictures

Lewis, what a great vintage look in your latest MV! Looks like you had a lot of fun shooting it too.

Thanks David! yeah the Angénieux 70-210mm made for Leica is a must have! You can find it dirt cheap on eBay, light and small and it's a gorgeous lens!

I made a side by side comparison years ago with the 70-200mm from Canon:

The other important thing to note is that it is a macro lens.
Super lightweight zoom.

Nice images Kristopher!

I especially like the composition of the 2nd one. Which lenses?

Thanks Mark really appreciate it! The second shot was definitely my 35mm elmarit v1 and first may have been the 19mm v1 or if not it was the 24. Was a long day :).

Thanks Lewis for the comparison video, very handy.

Does the Angenieux have a push pull design for the zoom, or is it a traditional rotation design?

It's rotation, I even got it cine-styled by TLS like all my Leicas: you can see both my Angénieux zooms here, last 2 lenses on the right:

Here are a few from that 70-210 from this past weekend. Pretty much out of the camera. really should the character of the lens and how it gets powdery and low contrast with backlight.

Hey y'all! Based entirely on the examples in this thread (well, and a long family history with Leica) I invested in an R lens kit, but didn't have a camera to test them on... until now!

First time out with the Epic-W. Let's just say I'm satisfied with the result. ;)

IPP2 preview in camera w/ STH OLPF. Otherwise completely untouched. (down sampled to 2k so I could upload - open 'em in a new tab!)

Looks great D, lovely flare!

Thanks a lot David... you just made me order a replacement for the one I parted with last year (and probably shouldn't have :)

Damn! This looks really good!
I promised my business partner we won't buy any new lens this year but those shot will make me lie...

Great Stuff D.

Welcome to the thread.
