I know some of you plan your travels way, way too far in advance, so I just wanted to give everyone a heads up that didn't hear it already, next year we are going to bail on NAB in April and instead move our entire roadshow to CINEGEAR in June... which we feel has grown to become a much, much, much, much, much, much better show for us and our customers.

Haven't been to a CineGear yet, looks like next year will have to be the first! As a guy who's not really into Vegas, a change of scenery would be very refreshing. Excited to see what comes!

Do you think you can convince them to have at least 3 days of exhibits? Thinking about international folks, flying so far for only 2 days might not make sense.

I am so over Vegas... for so many different reasons. And truth be told.. I think NAB should really only be 2 days anyways.

Walking around Cinegear today it felt like such a better event with substantially less suits, substantially more passion , and just a lot of really cool people and cool companies making cool stuff.

We will do whatever we can do to help the good folks at CINEGEAR make the show bigger and better.

You mean a hall full of indistinguishable broadcasting business names like "Video Technology Solutions, Inc." doesn't float your boat?

I agree! I walked around Cinegear today looking for the RED booth only to finally ask a RED rep who told me there wasn't one. Look forward to it. Great show, my mind was blown by the amount of innovation and great products available.

i tried to squeeze it all in one day because i couldnt go tomorrow, it was tough, but the second i got home i was like, wait, did i miss red's booth? shit!
so im glad now i hear there wasnt one, phew.
but ran into so many more people i love then i ever do in vegas, and finally met some more, like phil holland and mark pederson, great meeting you guys and thanks for all you do!
it's a pretty amazing to me that some booths for things i never heard of are huge, and then there is angenieux with a single pop up tent.

Nice move. Cinegear is much easier to attend for the LA crew anyway. I'll look forward to seeing you there next year.

Hi Jarred,

Good move. I would really like to go Cinegear 2017.

What about your plans in Europe. RED @ IBC Amsterdam 2016? RED @ Cinec Munich 2016?
I loved the RED stand in Cinec Munich back in 2014. Now RED has closed the German HQ. Cinec would be really great, otherwise we will see much to much Arri...

Ha ha... PERFECT!!

I just moved back to LA... Literally walking distance from Paramount... And yeah Cinegear.... A "MUCH" better experience then Vegas, something about been more loose and friendly, or it's the filling of been already inside a Studio that makes me fill more connected and involved in the Industry... Too bad we missed each other yesterday, had to bail early...

I have been looking for an excuse to go to Cinegear in the last couple of years. I guess next year is it. LOL

And I can visit relatives there, too!

This is great news! Haven't been to Cinegear in nearly 7 years, happy to hear how it's grown, and will gladly visit it in lieu of Vegas next year.

Bold move, but I like it. Very Red ;)
