Looks awesome. How much is it going to be? Also any vignetting with that 4x5 matte box?
Thanks

Its going to be $1,499/pc. We have tested it with Bright Tangerine Misfit (the one in above image) and looks fine!

I'm in big time. I've been using the stills EF version since day one and modified it for motion work. Really happy to see it finally in a proper housing.

Still nothing like this lens on the market and useful for formats from S16, S35, to VV.

I'd like to see the 8R on S35 compared to this on VV.

Slightly wider FOV on the 12mm and a newer design. We tested it back when the EF mount version came out. You can actually get wider, but at the cost of speed. There's still a rumored 10mm f/2.8 that potentially cover VV, but at this T Stop this is as wide and rectilinear as you can currently go other than slower 11mm options.

Then I need one for sure :)

A happy fast shipping story.

My Laowa 12mm T2.9 in PL mount arrived today.

Quick 30 seconds worth of thoughts.

I was an early owner and supporter of the lens via Kickstarter back in 2016/2017. After discovering it covered RED 8K VV I really, reallly, really wanted it in PL mount with proper gears, front, etc. I used it early on in EF mount, still use that lens. And a few companies rehoused it eventually for a bit over 2X the price of the newer cinema version.

So what you get is the lens shipped in a nice hard case w/ foam, shims, and a very important 114mm clamp on matte box ring. Impressively long focus throw. Very thoughtful and well done.

Tossed it up on Monstro and am pleased to say everything is working perfectly. Footage soon-ish.

Anywhere taking orders on this lens right now? Would love to put in a pre-order.

Duclos Lenses I believe this week will have it up for pre-order. Hotrod Cameras I think too.

Some more screen grabs using the 12mm t/2.9 on a recent TV series. The lens is still ultra-wide (~18mm) when being used on S35 sensor. Its versatile to get a FF compatible lens than a S35 one.

I just picked one up yesterday from Duclose. Looked at on their projector against my 14mm Sigma. Holds up very well edge-edge, I'd say very close to the Sigma in sharpness and performance. Nice plus is that the lens with the BT Atom Matte Box will cover 8K on the Monstro! I bought a 114mm lens cap (Duclose Pro Cap) and plan on leaving the step up ring on the lens.

Great to hear that Steve. Enjoy and cant wait to see your productions with the lens.
