  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

This looks very nice especially for the price of those lenses IMO.

One question though : is it me or YouTube compression has gotten worse than ever these days ? I mean, I maxed out the settings and the stream looks mushy as f... (the stats says I'm watching in 5K and streaming at 236 Mbps per second...)

I always watch any high res video on Chrome. And sometimes embedding these videos into other sites sometimes effects the quality to some extent. I always now try to upload a DNxHR HQ file to get better results.

You're not being a "Negative Nancy" you're just giving an honest assessment of what you observed. I liked certain scenes better that others also. In most lenses certain aperture selections exhibit certain behaviors like CA. Tim may have chosen certain apertures based on certain creatives intents. So its always good to have multiple eyes to point out what you and other members may have noticed but what other members might have missed.

Yeah I was kinda thinking the same but at the same time I personaly can use it to "my advantage" (to create a more "grungy" look, sort of).
Also, an interesting topic of discussion about CA and others lense defects : pixel pitch on a sensor. The smaller they are with a bigger resolution, the more likey it is to amplify those lense defects.
A lense with CA on the URSA 12K looks terrible for example. My point being : that's something to take into account when choosing a lense.

With all those vibrations it could be difficult to stabilize in post even with a global shutter. Guessing he just mounted it to the jeep with no device that helps reduce the vibration.

Yeah, he probably just mounted it in the jeep with no 3- axis stabilizer component. However, that non-stabilzed look could be great if you were going for a high speed chase scene like in "The French Connection", " Mad Max" or "Bullitt".
