  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

So as most of you have probably noticed the amount of deliveries have shot up and we are back to making Scarlet-Ws and Weapons again right alongside the Raven's. We should have a pretty consistent next few months getting out cameras, but quite frankly we still are getting more orders than we can keep up with even though we have the lines back, we just can't make enough sensors and other parts too keep up with the demand.

If you are eager enough to place an order for a Raven or a Scarlet-W today.. There is simply no candy coating it... you are in for a pretty healthy wait well out into the fall. As discouraging as that may sound... I would still suggest getting in line if you can stomach it.. because I don't think the day that you can just order and pickup either a Raven or Scarlet-W the same day is going to happen anytime soon.

6K Carbon and MGs are currently only about a week behind but I do expect that to get a bit longer as we go into July as we usually see an upswing in people doing their upgrades before they go on vacation.

8K VV are getting slightly better as well.. We went through a few dud wafers for a bit there but Spherical and Anamorphic 8k VV should start popping up at the end of the month in very small numbers.

REDVOLT Expanders should start shipping the last week of June.

Jetpack SDI a big batch should start shipping the 3rd week of July.

The DSMC2 Side Handle finally has a date... We will have the first small batch go out at the end of July with a monster batch following 6 weeks later.

O and I know some of you Epic MX folks are patiently awaiting for your DSCM2 upgrade path... We still need a bit more time. It will be very special in a small but big way.

Thats a testament of a great product demand there! Congrats RED for reaching another level of market penetration :)
 
Thank you for the update, especially the info on: Epic MX DSCM2 upgrade path...

Red once again shows why it is the best digital cine camera company in the world.
 
In a way, I wish I'd held back on the Dragon upgrade from MX. I have a feeling that the Epic MX to Weapon path will be a cheaper all round alternative and (also) be something pretty cool (like keep your MX body and get a Weapon too or swap out body etc). Just my feeling/guesswork (ie the MX is a bit like the old RED one now, in terms of position - so, so it wouldn't make sense to open up production lines to move to Dragon then Weapon)

It's great to get updates straight from Jarred - RED certainly seems to be on an upward bounce at the moment. :)

Hi Jarred, Brent - I had my WMg upgrade allocated since March, but the great thing for me was that meanwhile I had 2 feature films in production so I could not send it.

I have a trip to the UK (middle of June) so I can drop-off the camera, but my bomb squad rep just informed me that there is no estimated date for processing the upgrade and it might be a long time until it gets processed so it's better to keep it with me rather than risk a long period without camera.

When do you say is best to send it?

Nice to hear Fall will actually begin in July this year :-)

I think that is The ideia for The red scarlet-w, upgrade path was one of the selling points against The raven ;)

Likewise. Similar to Matthew I have a Scarlet-W package floating around the upper Mid-West (Twin Cities / Chicago / Milwaukee area)
 
I was really hoping for some kind of estimate update on the SW. I ordered mine january 21st, and i haven't heard of anyone with a january timestamp getting allocated yet. Am i really not going to shoot this beast untill fall? :'(

Im a December 10 order and iv not been allocated yet. I wouldn't worry yet

And there is that: "Scarlet Dragon owners are eligible for this special package pricing and will receive priority in the allocation queue."
