  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Jim's Last Post - Send him off with some pictures of Red in action.

Eventhough I've just joined the forums and don't yet own a Red I thought I'd chime in anyways with a shakey snapshot I took whilst shooting my first short on a Scarlet a few months ago. I already feel spoiled being able to do my first work with such a great piece of technology and it delivered everything I hoped for! Looking forward to joining in the red-owners in the near future and doing a hell of a lot more shoots with RED cameras!

So cheers for that!

-Joris

Jim

Thanks for an amazing journey, bumpy at times perhaps, but always fun

I like many will never forget the day our RED One arrived, it was truly magical. I'll post up some photos over the next few days.

With Dragon you have delivered upon your promise so you can be very proud of what you and the team have achieved!

Please keep your passion alive and guide the next chapter in RED's history.

Life is short, live it well...

Best wishes and sincere thanks.

Scott

Here's to the man who made the best camera on the market today that you can travel anywhere with. Have no limits with lenses, rigs, functions and uses. A camera that gave so many great young, old, new, and experienced cinematographers the chance and freedom they wanted. I hope your new free time from REDuser is being well spent at RED, and I can't wait for what you and everyone at RED come up with next for cinema. Thank you Jim. Without you, Digital Cinema cameras would still be 250k and the indie world would still be stuck fighting the light with 35mm adapters on 1/3 cameras.

from renting the REDone

to owning my first RED

Thanks to Jim and his greatest invention, I think I can handle the rest in the right manner.

Thank You, Jim.

Thank You Jim.

I have, and continue to, enjoy your creations.

Can't wait to see where they will take me next!

Two locations, one quiet and one noisy. We also just finished building out our new studio and are kinda proud of our new camera storage and work bench, just showing off a bit here. And a shot with the 600 in place.

EDIT: I have better pics at work, these were on my iPad, sorry for the poor quality

I loved the "HUMBLE"hahahaha Awesome.

We haven't taken our Scarlet anywhere particularly exotic, but we did just wrap principal photography on our first feature film -- here's a pic of me getting some of our final pickup shots at sunrise in Wilmington, NC. (Don't put the camera in the water until the end right?)

final_shots.jpg

We've been working on this film for over 3 years now. The first decision we made was that we wanted it to be in 4k. While saving up for an extended rental on a R1MX, the Scarlet-X announcement came, and for the same rental budget, we are now RED owners. Thanks Jim.

Was able to shoot on the RED ONE several times and fell in love with it.

Never thought I'd own one for myself:

There aren't as many photos of me and the camera on Facebook that I thought.

Anyway, I love mine.

Don't have many pictures yet, but I'm gearing up to DOP my first two features before November. A huge part of that is because of the quality and affordability (BT Red One MX) of Red cameras. Thanks Jim for finally making it possible for me to do what I've always wanted to do.

Working from the early beginning with Red One 1265 and went for MX and to Epic-X 0274 now waiting to send my camera in for the upgrade to Dragon.
In 2007 it was the only way to shoot with the dept of field of a 35mm motioncamera that i good afford! It was the best camera choose i ever made. Old custumers stayed and a lot of new custumers became my clients. I will thank everybody for this. And don't forget "the camera is a tool, the best movies are being made by the Talent's in front and behind the camera". But a good tool is half the work they say in the Netherlands. www.camlight.nl Good Luck!! Best regards Robert.

Jim, thank you for bringing me back home!
Before Red One a lot of my projects were just dreams, far away on a other planet.
All this changed 2005, and since August 2008 I enjoy working on them- first the RedOne, RedOne MX then EpicX and ScarletX.
All the best!
Marc
