Sorry. You can thank Arri that my full time job is now dealing with Michael Bravin and Arri. Nothing else.

Jim

I'm obviously way out of my league to give any sort of comment on this, but I share it anyway: fight for what you believe in, but never let negativity and negative energy be your driving force. Look at all the positive energy people over here send to you and your team. We are here for the long haul. This legal battle needs to be fought, but hold on to the positive side of Red accomplishments: even if Arri does come out with copied products and plans, what you've achieved with your costumer base as well as the potential Scarlet and future buyers is brand loyalty with your commitment to them. You have an incredible team, like someone else said, of true mavericks and talented people that share a passion together with you. This we can "feel" on this side of the internet. You may lose probably a couple of those high end costumers, but these were never "your" target costumers anyway. Peter Jackson, Sodeberg, and the whole reduser community are sure to be with you and look forward to what you guys do today and in the future.

Go fight the fight, but don't let it consume you, Red Team. You've achieved something those guys never will. think about that!

I agree with you Jim, the world is no more what we want it to be, values you hold true are scoffed at by others.
Amazingly being a nice guy means you can be had, and will not do anything about it.

JIM, Its time a nice guy shows the other side they cannot be taken for a ride anymore.

PURSUE what you believe is right and never give up.

This plain stinks. I hope Fiji will embrace you with the much needed breeze of fresh air.

As bad as this is, and I believe that because we don't really know much we cant really imagine, you have to know that they might steal your present, but they won't be able to do it again to steal your future.

They can never get your imagination and inner mental force. Dont let them break this. Your strength is not only the products you made but the Team you have built and the power of your creative mind. they can't take that away from you.
make whoever is involved pay for what they did, and then go on thinking ahead like you always do! The future is yours and we will always try to be a part of it! RED spirit!

RED spirit!

A big part of the RED SPIRIT is fighting for what we believe in.. We have shown that strength already breaking the mold of what the camera industry was comfortable with giving the customer. But that strength pales in comparison to the strength we, and specifically Jim, unleashes in fighting against right and wrong.

Im glad the United States Government feels the same way.. and am glad they took the first step with the successful conviction.

Now it is Jim's turn.

Always fight for what you believe to be right. For what it's worth, you have full moral support from all redusers. Like other challenges Red have had to overcome in past, you will overcome this one too.

For what it's worth...I have no doubt RED will come out on top.

Jim, breathe easy knowing you have an enormous family of filmmakers backing you up. We're here for ya buddy!

Sad to say, I had a similar situation with a former employee. Best to you Jim, I'm sure you will prevail. Like the saying, "No good deed goes unpunished" it just stinks having to fool with this sort of tripe. You've built a family of friends here and that is something very enviable in the eyes of your competitors.

No doubt! Red wins again! You can't revolutionize and industry without some fortitude!

Ground and Pound! Ground and Pound!

... IP (intellectual property) theft and abuse is one of the worst crimes ... its a modern desease.

Whoever does not understand this, has either never invented anything and / or has no idea on how unique of a skill it is to invent and solve problems. (especially if this problems is / are "impossible" to solve at the time of inception ... , like 4k RAW ... 120FPs ... 18 stops ...)

Copy cat is easy. The damages to the inventor are profound. It may be, that inventions occur simultaneously in different minds at different locations, some things are shouting to be solved .... and this is healthy and appreciated ... that is competition and fosters evolution.

here though ...
... everyone talking about "being proud" to be stolen from ... lives in pink paradise and needs to get reality straight ... its BS.

My respect and support to Jim, Jarred, RED.
I am german born, free spirit and i am ready to kick some ass ... :-)

... just sayin`....

RED, can you please tell us that there is no connection with the theft of the first EPIC M (006 I think) in the Alps (if you can even say anything about this yet)?

If anything, this proves RED is a stronger company than anyone else.

Not only will you guys come through this, but you will benefit and gain more support than you could imagine. Because no matter who you are, or what camera team you support, what the other party in this situation did was wrong and of awful taste.

EVERYONE should agree on that.

Best of luck guys.

This is terrible and unheard of news. I can't fathom the depths of the how detrimental this could be or has been towards Jim and Red. Unbelievable.
Professionalism seems to be taking a backseat for some, especially these days.

I don't know you personally Jim, in fact we've met exactly once, but your determination and vision have greatly effected what I and many do for a living. I'm sure many others share the same sentiment and level of concern.

Take a few days. Cigar. Chair. Beverage. Beach.
