  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

I didn't even notice this until I looked for it specifically.
At first I thought it was just Izzy's heartbeat, but this is visible on other parts of the image including his legs, they are just not as obvious as in the side areas, which makes me think this could be an encoding issue with the Flash - perhaps a keyframe issue.
If only Jarred would put up an .r3d file :biggrin:
Actually, a ProRes or even an .h264 would be great.

PL on 2/3?

Am I the only one interested in the fact that they were using a 100mm PL lens on a 2/3 chip? I knew we can put any lens we want (via interchangable mounts) on the scarlets, but didn't everyone say that would be dumb because you can never get a wide enough FOV?

You can put just about any lens you want on the 2/3" Scarlet that covers the image circle but wide on a 2/3" is 6-8mm. 100mm is a very long telephoto on this sensor size.

Izzy isn't a very friendly lizard.. nothing dumb about wanting to be as far away as possible :)

What size lens on the 2/3 Scarlet would be just wide enough to not have any of that weird distortion?

what distortion are you referring to?
 
I don't think he is referencing any "weird distortion" in the Izzy clip...maybe he's talking about the fisheye curvature as "weird distortion", and wondering what the widest is one can go without curvature...or I might not understand the question also.

We don't have any of the answers yet...

Its all guesswork at the moment. Different scarlet brains have different release periods at the moment and all we know is it will likely be around the third quarter of this year. The brain prices are set at the moment, however accessory prices are still being decided (if they have been decided on - we haven't been told yet).

Would my 16mm Bolex Angenieux 12-120 work on the 2/3 inch scarlet?
