Fuck that looked good. And the best I can do right now is 1080. Judging by the jittery motion of the cars, however, I wasn't quite getting the true experience.

I would have been tempted to troll people by saying that it was a GoPro on a drone. Or a S35 Alexa Mini with an 8K license. Yeah, I love fucking with people like that. ;-)

HaHa Yeah, I guess being shot at 60p and watching it on a smaller screen at a lower Resolution it gives an impression of Aliasing that you would expect from something like a GoPro. I watched it first on my laptop which has a 1080P screen, but when I watched it on my Samsung 54 inch 4kUHD screen , that made all the difference. Which I had A 8k Screen like some of the rich guys on the forum to watch it in 8k maybe soon.....or not.

This was gorgeous. My only question is whether I've just "broken my brain/eyes" into being able to see this type of content as the window to the world (as Phil Holland talked about), or if I'm actually seeing it as said window.

I showed the 8K Bulgaria stuff to someone recently, and he said, "Oh yeah, it looks like the smooth motion stuff on TVs, but just not nearly as weird since it's not computing what frames to fill in."

Yeah, it was gorgeous especially if you looked at it on as high a resolution display as you could afford or had access to. Only the man himself, Phil, can give you a better insight into the "Windowed" look/effect. But I also, like you, thought that looking at the videos that I better understood the "Windowed " look/effect that has been alluded to on this forum and elsewhere.

Why do I only get a HD link?

Are you guys seeing this in 8k or HD?

And personally... I can not understand why on earth you would like to show something in 60p and especially not if the bandwidth is limited, which it always is on the web. I would rather have less than half the compression and 24 or 25p.

Lovely footage but I don't understand the frame rate choice at all. If it was up to me and if shot in 60p, then play it back in half speed or toss half the frames away and then play back in 25p... you then get a hint of slowmo.

It could be some kinda embed limitation of the browser you are using. In Microsoft Edge I get up to 1080P. In Google Chrome, 8k

I'm in the "primarily doing 8K work" market and many of the customers overseas right now are very interested in 8K 60p. The Christmas Miracle I've been able to pull off specifically on clients who have desired "cinematic images" has been to do traditional 24p and occasionally 30p work. I'm getting asked for even higher frame rates these days.

I always try to dissect the client's intentions on these projects, but at the moment specifically for stuff that is targeting 8K HDR, HFR helps with some of the issues if shot without taking HDR into account when designing shots.

And yep, Rand is dead on the money. Some browser don't have the 8K option. When in doubt on anything in a browser, go Chrome.
