  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

January 2016 update

It was about a week wait, in my case, to go from from camera delivered to credit showing up in my account.

I'm getting dozens and dozens of requests for 8ks everyday, and yes Marvel / Panavision is still gobbling every one that comes off the line. We will get out of the one-by-one "tedious" production of 8ks when we start doing monster batches at the end of March and the production of 8ks will ramp up significantly at that time.

It's a bit sad to hear knowing that these films are likely to only finish at 2k or max 4k. I bumped the start of my IMAX film till April 1st hoping that would be enough time to get my CF Weapon upgraded to 8k. It would be nice that first ones out of the gate can actually utilize the 8K, and finish in it.

I'm sure you guys would love to see what 8k IMAX laser dome projection would look like.

'm glad to hear the term monster batch thrown around for March though!! ;)

The trigger for your credit is your WEAPON being invoiced. So, split your order, get the WEAPON all set then use ensuing credit on accessories.
 
I ordered the Scarlet W the day or day after it was announced. That means everyone who ordered a Raven and switched over to Scarlet W are ahead of me in the cache, fair enough. I also am going with the package deal, so I realize a further delay because of this. My question is, I am financing this and want to get that in place ASAP, but not so far in advance that I can't lock in. My guy says quote is good for 60 days and can increase that by 30 days no problem. So am I jumping the gun getting financing locked in now?

I have the unpleasant feeling that I'll loose more money than expected (C300 rental after having sold my trusty Scarlet mx) waiting for the Raven to join his foolcontrol on my phone. Child of a lesser God?
 
Hey Brent or Jarred, I know it's been confirmed that Scarlet W will have an upgrade path, as all Reds have had, but Raven is a new type of Red camera we haven't necessarily seen before as far as entry level pricing into the ecosystem. So my question is, will the Raven have some type of upgrade path moving forward?

Hope this is still in the realm of this thread -- does anyone know when the serial numbers are assigned? For instance, when I'm invoiced for my Scarlet-W, will they say "you've been assigned XXXX"? Really curious to know this! I'm so freaking excited!!

I didn't know the serial number of my original Scarlet until I opened it.
 
Haha. Thanks, Chris. I'm fine not knowing. In fact, knowing would probably make the waiting hurt more.

All depends on processing time of upgrade order and accessories order. And, in turn, processing time to have credit applied to your account once your WEAPON has been invoiced. I think most people are seeing the credit within a week of brain being invoiced.

Don’t know your spot in line, sorry. My trying to predict within a 60 day window of where your order would be allocated would be a disservice to me and you, haha. I think once you get your allocation notice, doing financing at that point is clearly the most conservative plan.

For RAVEN, cannot confirm or deny at this time. Personally, I would not buy a RAVEN banking on an upgrade path when it is a known commodity with SCARLET-W.
 
Fair enough. Raven will pop my RED Cherry :) I'm going to love it regardless, even after I buy Scarlet W. Just thought I would ask though, thank you.

Hopefully you make a lot of money with your Raven that will allow you to move up to the next camera level when YOU are ready. Until then, happy shooting!
