  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

January 2016 update

Well the way I read it, it sounds like all of the MG Weapon upgrades will be done in the next 30 days no?

Considering that some of us (like me) have not received a notice from our bomb squad rep about Woven CF upgrade, I don't think all of the MG upgrades will be "done" in the next 30 days - maybe notice sent within the next 30 days...

I'd of course love to be wrong about this and hear from my bomb squad rep today that I can send my Dragon in.

Not to be selfish or over-eager....okay maybe a little selfish & over-eager but when can we expect our first glimpse of some "people" footage from the 8k VV Weapon?
 
Hi Brent @ Red,

On the Scarlet-W package, is it possible to pay a bit more and upgrade the Mini-Mag from the 120gig to the 240gig? That would be really helpful.

I'm going to buy an additional 240 gig, so it would be nice if both cards matched in storage.
 
Scarlet W's should start to be in people's hands in one month Jarred said. Weren't all MG Orders supposed to be done before that?

Yeah I agree that we won't actually get the cameras back by then but it sounds to me that all MG Weapons will get the allocation email in the next 30 days.

Am I conecting the dots correctly?

We are kinda on fire right now... the good kinda fire. All lines are up and blasting through upgrades and we are in a pretty awesome rhythm. We still are dependent on people sending in the cameras as soon as they get notified which isn't always the case as some customers are in the middle of productions with their dragons and can't send them in yet, but at least we can confidently say that we should be able to at least notify everyone within spitting distance of that 30 day window.

Sorry about that. Definitely guilty of not being able to send mine in right away. Only a few more days till my cam comes off production then it will be on the first plane out to Red HQ.
 
Jarred I ordered my Scarlet W within 24h it was released. Can I count on the camera for sure by march 31st, the latest? Actually the 29th is my birthday so the 29th would be best! heheheh

We quote 7-10 business days, I believe. Depending when people send their cameras in after notification, it ebbs and flows.

ha ha no worries man totally understand. those are the speedbumps we are trying to accommodate for and the only thing that throws any forecast out the window because we have zero control over it :)

Is there a timeline for the, I am assuming, the new DSMC2 side handle.
Later today I will make my deposit for a Raven (the beginning of my venture into the RED ecosystem) and I am very interested in manipulating the camera with buttons (I shoot docus) instead of through touch screen.

We still are massaging the prototypes so you are realistically looking at a few more months to go before the side handles come out of the oven. Hopefully I can at least start showing you guys it next month ;)
 
Jarred, I just talked with my Bomb Squad rep about getting accessories shipped with my (soon to be) upgraded Weapon using the $5k credit - as I've read on reduser, I asked if I could order minimags and such to ship with the body using those bonus funds so that I would at least be able to use it. I was denied. :(
Any chance of changing that policy?

Looking forward to it! At this point, I hope you just take your time and knock it out of the park. Will it come in different skins? ie MG vs. Woven CF vs. Forged CF? Assuming there is much to skin.
