  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

JACK THE GIANT KILLER

Excellent news. Wonderful news for all of the RED world. Everybody keep shooting!

Welcome Bryan, I hope to shoot my next project on the same camera.
Its amazing to be able to say that to a big name in the industry.
Thanks RED !

I was cleaning the house this week and found two pins from the VHS box set of The Usual Suspects. Took me back to film school.

Looking forward to shooting my trailer on RED and my feature on EPIC. Taking a break from the trailer pre-production for RED USER posting. Oh, and yeah, Christmas.

Not shooting in 3D though. Had enough of that last weekend...

very cool

I KNEW this would be a good movie!
I've been tinkering around with the idea for a while. And I've been a fan of Bryan's since Usual Suspects. I can't to see what he does with it.

And people were saying 3D was going out of style. :P

It definitely seems to be the most popular gimmick in the entertainment industry right now... not that it makes a movie any better. I think it'll really be here to stay when they do 3D without the glasses. Maybe Red is developing that? haha

Awesome to see Bryan posting here. I'm a big fan of your work on House!

I've never been so excited to see another company succeed. It's awesome to watch all of this unfold every week. Congrats to RED!

With all of these big productions opting for Epic for 3D, meaning twice the usual number of camera bodies, the Epic assembly line must be in overdrive right now!

Fortunately... they all aren't starting right now. :-)

Jim

Jim, it seems like Red's level of support to those big filmmakers who are choosing to opt for Epic and new technology is unprecedented.

I know that ultimately these decisions come down to the quality of the image, budget, etc ... but I highly doubt other camera companies are giving the level of beginning to end support that you guys are. From pre-production, to shooting, to post, it seems like you're making sure you have Red team members who can help these big productions get the most out of their work and solve any problems at will.

Sorry is this is vague, I guess I'm making the point that it's not just the revolutionary technology -- it's the PEOPLE, the team, the expertise, and the support that's causing so many big productions to opt for the Epic.

Welcome to one of the best places on the internet Bryan. Hope you find a kind of home here like the rest of us have.

In regards to the movie, it sounds awesome!

Who is providing the cameras for all these shows with only one Offhollywood Epic M being out there in the field? If Peter Jackson is going to need 30 cameras for the Hobbit, some for Spider Man and all the other major productions starting up in the beginning of 2011? Is RED starting a rental business and selling the used cameras and equipment as 'BT' (battle tested)?
