  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Its official - Black Magic 4k Cinema Camera

what does this mean for new camera prices? BMCC has amazing latitude, if they implement that in the super35 camera that would be insane.

Close up.

Sorry for the spoiler. To be announced tomorrow :)

Major Update: it is a S35 sensor and the price will be $3,995!!!!!!

Unless they came up with decent compression data amount with cinema DNG will kill all the fun.
Besides that the somewhat akward form factor would be a problem for me.
If at all I would look at the pocket camera as a dslr replacement for personal grab shots.

Cool story bro but seriously, Blackmagic is great. I own the BMCC. But they do NOT know how to ship. Doesn't matter what that poster says, it's going to be a very, very, very, very long time before these models come out. I'm in the top 10 lists for the BMCC camera here in LA and still haven't heard anything about deliveries. I was able to find a body at Spring Street Mac in LA and never cancelled the other cameras because I was curious to see how far away they were with shipping. Apparently very far. If you can't support a product then what's the point of having the product? If it takes 2 weeks to get back a camera that needs repair, then why bother owning it to begin with? Service and support ya'll

I am curious of their release schedule, and in fact HOW they'll handle the release.

I'd sure hate to be Sony right now. Lol

I bet we something awesome from RED tomorrow... And for less $$$ than we expected. :)

I'm a refugee from BMD to Scarlet and I followed the saga very closely up until the battletested scarlet deal popped up. I think Grant got hamstrung by his sensor provider, but now that that one teething problem is evidently ironed out, I can imagine it will be a different story (unless they have a new sensor provider, but this time around I am sure they will be inspecting the assembly line much more closely).
