  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Major Update: it is a S35 sensor and the price will be $3,995!!!!!!

There won't be any announcements anywhere yet. I probably shouldn't even say this...but my source is in a closed meeting with BM as I type this and he is passing along details as they come.

Not to sound like a dick, but without any kind of link or evidence - and after the three "New Scarlet!!!!" threads - it isn't really official yet is it?

Funny. It seems like I start almost every sentence these days with, "Not to sound like a dick". My 2 year old daughter actually quoted it back to me a few days ago.
 
I suspect this will receive some sketicism unless they put forth a solid delivery plan. Aren't people still waiting for the current cameras? Not that Redusers haven't experienced delays, just wondering what the strategy will be to make sure delivery goes smoother this time.

Apparently a shitload of cameras have been delivered over the last month. They wanted to fill as many orders as possible with this BIG announcement. Sucks to be a 4/3rd user that just received their camera :-/ but what can you do....

And I wonder the price point, and then how that will impact on users of the current Cinema Camera. Since the release of the Blackmagic Cinema Camera people have been craving a 4K camear from Blackmagic for around 8K. I look forward to hearing more about it.

I could be wrong but I was under the impression that the 4/3rd model had only shipped to bloggers etc for reviews, and none had even reached consumers yet? Not sure... Do you have any more details on the camera yet? Sensor size, FPS etc?
 
I was very interested in the current BMCC, but their quality control problems give me pause. I just returned a Hyperdeck shuttle last week for putting out green video.
 
Ok gotta say that pocket cinema camera has got my attention Big Time!
