In Asia, 38C would be unattainable with the ambient temperatures hovering around that or higher. I've set my target temp in the high 40s.

Hi Eric, i had a phonecall with Red Europe and they give the advice that you must not go higher then 44 degrees celsius on the sensor temp in adaptive. So i go for 44 degrees.

Sorry, I seemed to have misunderstood/misread your question... I thought you were talking about sensor temperatures with regards to temp during operation. (target temp displayed in the system status indicators on the monitor).

For the temperature setting to control the fans in adaptive mode, I generally keep mine at default and have only changed it to 40C a couple of times. Thanks for follow up info from RED EU, good to know.

Hi Eric, some beter news i received from Red Support US :Under your fan control settings the max Target Temperature you can set is 48 degrees celsius. The camera automatically regulates the temperatures and will automatically power down if it gets too hot to avoid any damage.
So in very warm conditions you can go as high as 48. I will blackshade tomorrow on 47 degrees, but i have to say in a 20 degrees surroundings the camera was very quiet on 44 degrees Target Temperature, i tested it a full 512 gb card long on 8K and togetherwith pro res 422LT

Same test today, with sensor target temp on 46 degrees and the core temperature is 70 degrees. fan speeds is 43/43. Very low fan noise
temp 46/70 fan 43/43 to see this on foolcontrol (i love this app !!)

Just wanted to say after one a year, thirteen day wait Epic-W #004102 arrived today!!!!! The cruel irony is that my V I/O was backordered so all I can do is ogle it and whisper it sweet somethings when nobody is looking.

Seems like a lifetime ago I first laid hands on a RED ONE s/n #00015 and #00016 ("Connor" and "Ripley") to test out the first alpha release of HFR shooting options. Such a fun day and one of the many reasons I ended up going the DP route. Never would I have guessed (though I often dreamed of if!) that I'd own a RED someday. Three years ago I was lucky to purchase a BT R1, the even luckier to get to trade up to a S-X a year later.

Thanks to everyone at RED for sticking with it through this crazy adventure and delivering such an incredible tool. I keep pinching myself because it's just that unreal.
