  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Incredible...

awesome idea!!

awesome idea!!

would be wonderful if RED site, after release, would have a CONFIGURATOR flash application to play around. Lego style :D

Yes please!! The ammm-AZING RED DROOLMACHINE!!!!!! Whee!

Seriously though, that would in fact be astonishingly cool...

Lookin' way good Jim...:)

My usual mobile hybrid production configuration will be even smaller and lighter, as follows:

brain, EVF or LCD (depending on subject matter and angle being shot), side grip with internal battery, top handle, no matte box, no follow focus, no bottom handles, CF module (EDIT: or sometimes SSD), and RED Electronic Lenses (sometimes Nikon or Canon) with screw-on filters.

Rough idea of modules...

Note that there are two sizes of REDVOLT batteries.

Good to know there's a choice on battery size. Also very much hoping that the SSD module is good to go with everything else at the beginning.
Peace,

Yep. That's going to be the package I intend to use most of the time as well. Plus a satchel full of Grip batteries. :D

This is Epically Amazing.... I'm getting about a million and one ideas... This changes every!

Please just release the camera's already... You guys are killing us here! I plan on renting out my kid on slave labor to help pay for this thing.

Just thought of something else, too. Will we be able to set up our DSMC rig with two media modules, such that we can route video to one (say a RED drive or SSD) while stills, when we switch over, go to something smaller like a CF card?
Peace,

-Harry

Any thoughts on any kind of body armor that will allow for good ventilation? I shoot in some very dusty environments in africa.

Will the heat only be an issue when shooting at high frame rates?

Its interesting how the modules have an 1:1 proportion in the ammount of "side ridges: and the space between them (except the camera module). I can start to see how things can be arranged around and to the body in units similar to rack units (RU = Red Units? :-P )

Just out of curiosity, why is the only record button on the body not on the operator side?

I understand that the redmote makes button placement somewhat irrelevant, but if you're going to put the button on there, what was he thinking behind placing it on the right instead of the left?

There is no place on the left side... and since you can put the REDMOTE anywhere you want...
