  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Incredible...

Jim,
I just showed my better half your latest render, and she asked "when does it turn into Arnold Schwarzenegger?"

Red Gunner below???

And I've got to add- that thing is scary looking. Just plain mean.

That thing at the bottom of the lens...focus servo?, so the ff is electronic and remote operable?
That'd be cool for stereo aswell

Focus servo with direct link to the lens and Follow Focus - wouldn't that be a bit of an overkill?

P.S. just did a little google on "Red Gunner" and it is quite funny what you get as results (I'm sure this will change towards the end of October — as pretty much everything else...).

Red Gunner Bark is milk chocolate with pretzel bits mixed in. It is inspired by my friend's chocolate lab, named Red Gunner (Gunner for short), who will eat just about anything.

I'm assuming the RED Gunner could possibly be something that can take the place of a rod system? :speculationemoticonthatdoesntexistyet:

But we already have RED Riser.

RED gunner has WIRES connecting to the front of the brain, remember that.

So you turn to me and say: Wired rods!
Now that's inventive speculation, lol.

My guess is that the RED GUNNER is some sort of Cinetape-ish focus tool. Most stills photographers seem to live and breathe autofocus and I'm sure Jim has taken this into account with his DSMC system.

Red Gunner looks like it could be a servo system to me. Allowing fly by wire with all lenses (which would fit the gunner).

Follow focus hasn't popped up in renders before either I don' think.

:hurray: Very stunning setup configuration, please Jim maybe you can consider different type of configurations like this last one stating the elements that enter into their composition and the corresponding price tag on the announcement day. This may help many of us to choose a working configuration to start with. Thanks.

stereo mic/grip ?

Oh yeah... It is the Gunner. Didn't look like the right scale to me, but yup.

Does it look like the numbered "notches" on the cunner might line up with lens ring gears?

Jim,

I've kept a watchful eye on the forums for several months now... sometimes logging in, mostly just surveying the comments. I'm struck and encouraged by the overwhelming enthusiasm for the company and product... which I share. I plan to buy into the Scarlet line and am anxious for the opportunity, but I'm patient at the same time.

Your considerate updates (and pics!!) are much appreciated and I'd hate for the sour attitudes of some spoil it for the rest of us.

Thanks for all you and the team are doing to rock the production world!

Regards,

Tim
