Hello,

Can we take a more complex 3D LUT (film emulation LUT, for example) and ONLY save its contrast curve? Turn it into a very simple LOOK file (basically a 1D LUT) and load THAT into the camera?
Just the contrast curve, not the color transformations, obviously, since the camera doesn't support complex 3D LUTs.
But a film emulation contrast curve alone could be useful to have in camera.
Is that possible?
If it can be expressed with the 5 curve points that RED gives you yes. So practically speaking no.Can we take a more complex 3D LUT (film emulation LUT, for example) and ONLY save its contrast curve? Turn it into a very simple LOOK file (basically a 1D LUT) and load THAT into the camera?-
What Gavin said.If it can be expressed with the 5 curve points that RED gives you yes. So practically speaking no.
Thanks to all for your replies.
Will I be able to see the imported look in the camera via a director's monitor?
thanks again.
Yes.
You just need to assign that look to the appropriate feed. hDMI or SDI.
