  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

IBC - Dragon Epic and Scarlet Firmware V5.1.14 BETA

I fired it up real quick. WS formats an all resolutions with Scarlet.

Max fps with WS setting on Scarlet-X

5k WS 12 fps (yes, no changes in max fps)
4K WS 36 fps
3K WS 60 fps
2K WS 75 fps
1K WS 120 fps

HDRx 3K WS 30fps

60fps 3k ws. Great, now I can shoot 50fps finally. Is it still 48fps 3k with without ws? Anyway great upgrade. Cant wait to se this out of beta. Still running old faithful 3.3
Also 4k ws is something I waited for. Thanks!

Usually don't get in on the hurrah hurrah threads, but that is great to have new options for my little scarlet! I use a lot of WS crops it will be nice to shoot native and have some xtra FPS options! Thumbsup RED!
Love the always evolving camera!!

And lower compression as well, as low as 4:1 on 4k WS @ 24fps. Thanks for squeezing more out guys, it's awesome. And just in time for a project I have as well!

This is awesome news! Thanks a bunch guys! :)

Quick question: Is it possible to keep my button mappings when moving to this 5.X firmware, or do I remap it all manually after the upgrade ?

Thanks Red, can't wait to try it out !

Save your key settings out and write them to a card. Always keep that file on your computer. Firmware updates currently wipe the board clean. However, you can upload those keys very easily from a REDMAG.

If you create a preset with all your key mappings and export it to an SSD you will be able to import and apply the preset after upgrading to 5.1.x

Wow, Red is smooking! I would guess its the same with 25fps projects. Can anybody confirm?

It's just fucking incredible how you guys keep rolling out with improvements. Fucking incredible!

I feel the love, I feel valued as a customer.

Pretty big build tonight for Dragon, Epic, and Scarlet cameras. The new UI is major and you guys with Canon/Nikon lenses gotta check out the Rack Focus enhancements.. they are pretty incredible.

I don't want to complain, because it's already wonderful, but please finish the flip/flop mode ! it's something lots of users would use every single day !

Wow, what a day. That's an impressive update. Thank you very much!
And a special thanks for the newly added modes on Scarlet, that's more than a surprise. Really cool!

"Added support for 512GB media"

That sounds intriguing ... does that mean the earlier Dragon build did not support 512 GB, or that there are now higher data rates unlocked on the Turbo Card?
