  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Here it is...

Absolutely Fantastic!!!

Also a question about this:

Is it now REDCINE-X getting out SCRATCH "influence" in a direction of totally new and standalone app, GUI, programming,... or is it still continue like a sort of new SCRATCH as its little brother and also again as a free app...?

sweet.....

Jim you guys could easily jump into the video software business......if you were so inclined :sifone:

Looks Awesome

Looks Awesome

This looks f-ing great. I love you guys. If you added wave form monitors, and a vector scope, and included RGB parade, that would really kick ass.

Are curves still hiding in there?

I really really hope that we can export looks from this app [generated on a good, calibrated monitor via HD-SDI...] to the camera.

I believe that I am having one of those Bevis and Buthead moments... Whoa... come to buthead. This is going to be great, especially when I get my Scarlet.

You folks continue to amaze. Looks great, can't wait.

this is gonna sound rather stupid...

so RED CINE is essentially an editing program...and judging from that video...
I'm guessing its for short edits?Nothing heavy hitting like FCP of course because it is free at the end of the day and theres only so much they can offer for free...

but does that mean short little films, web videos etc. just small things can be done in that? O.o

THATS SOME CRAZY STUFF GOING ON FOR RED CINE X!

(Never touched it before so apologize if I'm naive to the greatness of the current red cine)

RedcineX is looking sexy and everything but no EDL / XML support???

Isn't that the number one requested feature since day one? Isn't that the missing link in RED's native workflow? Isn't it the only reason RedCine cannot fulfill it's real purpose?

So we can import footage in new cool ways and do basic edit stuff... that's fantastic... but how about using it for *real* work?

Sorry if i sound negative. RedcineX really looks great but without importing edit lists it still feels kinda half baked. :-(

I have mixed feelings about this..

Looks really cool.

But just letting you know that "sharpeness" isn't spelled correctly in the slider window you show toward the end of the vid. I know it's a detail, but I'd like it if someone told me.

Looking forward to checking this out!

ha ha ha i was wondering how long it would take for someone to post that... I made a bet it would be less than 5 minutes.. you guys are loosing your touch :)

And please guys.. keep the bitching down a little...

Hey this is an awesome bit of information, it will make REDucation all the more exciting when we meet up in July 23 (and other REDucation related class schedules). No Biaching here - cause this is some good info down the pipeline and into our vision if not our hands at a later date. ! !

"And please guys.. keep the bitching down a little... "

They're talking about the most important feature of an editor, the ability to edit with EDLs and such.

That's not "bitching."

That's stating the obvious.

Well, the obvious here is that this application is NOT an editor, even if it looks like it can do some of that. So yes, keep it down a bit, please.

Could RED not buy Crimson and implement Cutlist/EDL support.
Not having a RED dedicated Offline to Online tool is holding us back,
Come on bring out a mother of all RED tools to tame the beast that is REDONE, you know you want to :-)

I think you have to re-read what Joe said because you missed the point. He is talking about the editor as a *person*. Noone asked RedcineX to be an editor!
