  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Has anyone recieved the microMatteBox for Red One?

Outdoors mostly - ND 1.2, Pola, IR Cut and all stages are full... Even if you have ND's with IR cut integrated, it happens quite often that I put in more than one ND...

I just got mine into a Storm iM2300.... pictures in the next couple of days, but the trick is to have the matte box in its "open" position so the side rails are parallel to the box. Makes it much shallower :)

Muroshi- Thanks for the pix. I'm not quite understanding what you did to modify the side rails ...

Paul- that sounds like an interesting solution, I'm looking forward to seeing the pictures. You probably do not have any additional room for filters huh?

Ryan, if you look at the siderails and compare them with yours you'll see that I pushed the rails a bit further to the front of the mattebox.

Two better solutions for you:

- replace the rods with the small Element Technica rods (the 3") - it'll make the MB a fraction lighter as well.
- store the MB with the siderails in the unlocked position, and cut a slot in the foam to accept.

I'm using the "official" packing foam, which sadly forces you to pull the siderails off every time - I'm trying to find a solution myself without much hackery.

Oh, I see what you mean. Clever solution. :)

Element Technica: I wish. :) You second suggestion would put me in the same situation as with the original shipping foam again.

OK, here's the pictures as promised. Ryan, no room for filters but I'd normally keep them in a separate case anyway.

As you can see the whole kit fits perfectly. At some point soon I will be getting fitted foam made for all our equipment to replace the original foam core the Storms ship with, so it'll then be even neater! :)

Now I see what you guys mean. I pushed the rails half way back and my storage still works, as the off position does. What I really like on my way is that I can leave the sidewings on the mattebox.

If somebody needs the original foam for whatever reason and is from Switzerland, he can get mine for free.

I actually meant keep the sidearm fitted, but in the swung-open position, just like visceralpsyche has done (see his picture on the previous page).

Also, you mentioned the foam packing for free? There's a problem with my Peli case, and since it's glued it'll break if I take it out - and if I send it in the case when it's replaced, I loose out completely.

PM me with the shipping costs/details, and I'll get back to you - I'm away for a week or two on location, so if you don't get a reply straight away don't be put off!!

Thanks.

If anyone wants our two lots of foam from RedRock's original shipping, in Japan, PM or email me or just drop by our office and it's all yours :)

Thanks for the pix Paul, much appreciated. :)

(Typically I'd keep the filters in a separate case as well, however I've got a project coming up where I'll be doing a lot of traveling, and I'm looking for a way to be small and have as few bags as possible- airlines are not so friendly when you have extra baggage.....)

Huh?

Huh?

They are not - reservation holders signed up as reservation holders, some as early as 2006.

As I mentioned before, it's a bit moot now as we are beginning shipments of regular orders this week, so all you early order holders should start to see shipment notices starting this week.

Thanks again

Brian

If regular orders are being shipped now where is my order considering that I AM a reservation holder?

fromwimptowimp:

We covered this some time ago in our update sent to reservation holders and orders: http://redrockmicro.com/micromb_shipping.html

Contact orders@redrockmicro.com with your order number. If you placed your order before priority shipping ended (August 8th) then it could be you placed your order under a different email address than what we had in our reservation system. Otherwise if you placed it after that date, priority for reservation holders ended and it is treated as a regular order.

Thanks

Bran

Hey Brian,

I received a FED EX tracking number 3 days ago, stating that it would be in Sydney today.

When updated, the tracking number still comes up as "Package data transmitted to FedEx" and needless to say, it didn't arrive.

I sent an email to ORDERS at redrock to get an update but no response.

Do you know if they didn't get off or if mine went astray?

Order 533-SO20517

Really looking forward to it, looks like a fantastic product and the vast majority who have received it have had rave reviews!

Great work!

Did anyone take delivery this week? I'm trying to determine if something held them all up or if mine went astray. Fed Ex tracking and confirmation from RedRock last Monday but it never got picked up.

Thanks!

Jim
