  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

I'm glad to hear some of you are getting your matte box.

Sometimes, I think or wished that RED would of kept on going with their own design because I think that would force REDrock to up the ante cause' you know RED owners would definitely buy the RED version over the REDrock in a heart beat.

I know I would. They should be counting their lucky stars that Jim & Co didn't continue with their design and eventually sell it…at least by now.

It's too bad...I liked it very much.

Update July 30:

We are still shipping on reservation holders. It's simply going slower than we anticipated. Looks like shipping through the rest of this week. Orders are still being shipped each day.

It wouldn't be so mad if I actually knew what number I was or ever got an accurate timetable... This is, I believe, the 8th time shipping has been pushed back in the last 2 weeks! Now I kinda wish I had the money to get a MB-20 as I would have already had it in my hands by now.

I don't believe the MB-18 will hold 5.65x5.65 filters, plus the MB-20 system is cheaper. I would have paid probably $4-$5k for an Arri if it had included EVERYTHING I needed (eyebrow, side flags, bellows, & 3 trays), but all the extras you need to really make it work bump up the price to $6-$7k!

I wouldn't be so frustrated if RRM didn't push back the shipping date each day for the past week and a half! sigh...

Right there with you! This thing better be all its cracked up to be and more for these kind of delays! This will be the last time regardless with this company for me.

mike.. for the price tag, its worth it. the delays sucked.. but now that i have mine im over it. does an arri feel more solid? sure,
but guess what.. the RR and arri hold the same filters.. so lets just say somehow your RR box breaks.. go by 4 more and your still under the price of an arri MB:)

I think youll be happy!

Yes, mine is the 19mm RED package. FedEx didn't feel inclined to deliver today for some reason, "package not yet due for delivery". I'll have it tomorrow - 7/31.

I've heard good things and at this point would expect nothing less. Just annoyed thats all. And yes, its a hell of a lot less expensive but I'm much more interested in quality. I waited to see the RED images before placing my reservation order and waited to hear feedback of the RR Mattebox from people i trust before purchasing as well. And, although its new and there are stumbling blocks i am just a little turned off by the string you along sales tactics. This is officially the end of my complaining though, it doesn't do any good for anyone anyhow. Just ship it!

GOt mine, it's sick. and the box it came in had pre-cut foam that fits my pelican 1500 case!!! wooot!!
 
So is buying the case from them a bit of a rip off, as the foam comes with the initial order? What's the deal?
