  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Has anyone actually gotten a sensor upgrade?

Video MTL, a HUGE camera rental place (bigger than even exists in most markets, and a buyer of one of the first Reds in 2007 ) has yet to get their e-mail. No mention of upgrades at NAB. No actual person I know of have heard of has gotten their upgrade, and I have not even seen a picture of a Dragonized camera anywhere (I could be mistaken, missing something, just Carbon Dragons. FXPHD, the earliest of early adopters, have not received their e-mail yet.

It is starting to smell like there might be no upgrade path at all, more than one year after that clean-room at NAB was already pumping upgrades out at high speed (cough… ahem…)
 
I'm pretty sure a few camera houses here in L.A. have gotten some upgrades - Camtec, Keslow....

although I'm awaiting my email- placed order NAB Tuesday at 1pm or so in the early adopter queue.
 
Yes. My M was upgraded last week. Red turned it around in less than two days. It is happening. And it is worth the wait.
 
There are a handful of upgraded cameras in the wild, we shot on one this weekend that belongs to a friend. Our camera has yet to be upgraded, but we were told by our bomb squad rep that we were coming up shortly.
 
Ive had my hands on three in seattle that have all been upgraded.
 
what was your order timestamp out of curiosity.....that would tell us where they are at in the que. Mine was around 1pm the announcement day.

Robert, I was going to take a picture of my Epic-X Dragon and post it to show you they are out there, but my last AC put a big piece of velcro right over the "dragon" on the side. But yes, they are being upgraded as mine went in two days before Christmas and I got it back in January. I actually rented a second Dragon-X in Atlanta a week ago also. So they are out there. I was also lucky in that I just happened upon the Dragon ordering page last year a few seconds after it went live. I didn't post in the list thread but my timestamp was at least two minutes before the first person on the list.

I'm pretty confident my wallet tells me mine was an upgrade. And for the record Dragon is not just a sensor upgrade.

I have seen several other upgrade Ms and the special case Xs. There are also new and I think upgraded Carbons now.

My receipt says 11:45 on April 8th.
 
2 of our Epic-Xs have been upgraded to Dragon. I think everyone who has them has just been shooting non stop and hasn't had time to post on reduser. Ivan and I are off to Nepal for 2 weeks and when we are back I should have some time to post some footage finally.
 
Special case X here upgraded about a month ago, God bless Jarred land. Unfortunately, I got sick just after the upgrade and haven't had a chance to shoot with my Dragon yet. On the mend and looking forward to my first week with the Dragon.
