  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Group Buy - Inovativ Carts!!

To answer my own question (after watching some vids and going full CSI)

Anyone know how these work?
https://inovativcarts.com/shop/acces...7-short-124-95

Long v. Short?

Short cross member is for the Swivel end of the cart - Long cross is for the locked wheel end. There are different on center spacing for each. Like Bob eluded to earlier. Camera mast usually goes on Swivel end of cart, monitor and umbrella the other end. Standard cart comes with two at each end so doesn't seem like you need another set unless you have a heavy mounting situation like a camera, umbrella or Steadi. I'm getting one each as extras to allow future add ons

Exactly right Zeb. 2 are included, which should suffice for 98% of the people out there.

I can help Zeb and potentially come out of the shadows now that I'm a buyer of a cart.

Inovativ Carts accessories are all about mounting posts and "masts".

When you look at the:
- Camera Mount System
- 5/8 Baby Pin - Mast Riser System
- Steadicam System
- Tripod System

All of those include the standard 1.75" diameter Mast post that you can attach the Horshoe Mount and Tripod Holder. The 5/8 Baby Pin Mast Adapter goes into the Mast itself and allows for anything to be mounted to that. That's an additional way to mount a monitor, light, or whatever. There is also the 5/8 Baby Pin System that is a single rod with two clamps that can attach to any post on the cart. Useful for an additional tray or whatever.

The Horseshoe Mount can can take any Ball Mount or Plate.

For DITs the Manits, Boa, and Sidewinder Systems are all ways of mounting displays via a post and vesa mount. You can use the Monitor Arm Clamps to attach a display to any of the main posts.

Grips, hooks, and handles are fairly descript.

The main questions you'll want to ask is what do you want your cart to do. Camera cart? DIT setup? Weird mutation of the two?

Thanks for helping out on the clarification Phil. I'll peak with Pat about creating some videos specific for each accessory to give more clarification as to what each one does since picts sometimes aren't enough.

Just curious, is anyone thinking about getting the Scout Travel Case? I liked it when I saw it at NAB and it's a better value after the discount.

LOVE the travel case for the Scout Evo 37"...really a must have if you travel. Plus, it keeps the cart from getting scratched when transporting and goes on/off in a matter of seconds. 1 velcro flap on the bottom and it pulls off like a sock.

ordered and payment going out.

Can't wait to pimp my cart to be a mobile drone / gimbal workstation. Thanks Chris for making this gb happen!

I ordered the travel case…want to keep the exterior as scratch free as I can. Also, I emailed Patrick about substituting the shorter Steadicam mast so that it fits inside the collapsed case, and he said that he was basically planning on making that substitution for all of the group buy carts unless someone wanted the full-length mast.

I had a look at the case but its really over priced for fabric.

I really hate having tools that I have to worry about getting scratched. Life is about scratches. Tools are made to be used. Its a cart, its should be abused and rolled everywhere and stand up to the beating.

I won't lie. i rented the 42 in NY and without the case it was a bitch to lift solo....

While I agree with you that the soft case is severely overpriced even with the discount. I checked it out at NAB and It's really well made and not just "fabric." It is padded on all sides and has holes cut specifically for all the things that need to be exposed during transport, like handles and the wheels. For an $3k+ investment like this.... It's a no Brainer.

Does the Case have pockets for the Accessories that don't fit inside the Scout 37? If so - worth the price. If not - why not?

Apparently I can't reply with a response less than 3 characters. So you're reading this preamble just for the answer below.

No.

New case design that has pockets in the works?? Seems an obvious feature for Grip gear.

Not at this time. Remember, the travel case is designed for that specifically..traveling. Having sewn in pockets is only something for TSA to grab and rip a hole in your case, especially when trying to life the cart by said pocket.

The case is really worth it...it's not just fabric - like Cameron stated. It's really nice and gives extra padding to the Scout. Highly recommend it.

What accessories did people get? In the end, I went for the camera mounting system and 100mm ball mount.

You can't really go wrong with a mast riser system of some sort...baby pins are used for A LOT of things on set..gimbals, monitors, etc.

@Chris & Inovativ
Travel Bag will be used 90% of the time off the TSA pocket tearing (wink wink) battlefield. More used local haul project to project then storage so it would be real handy to have everything either inside the Scout or in the cover bag. Having a second bag for Accessories is one more bag to forget or misplace. Not a deal breaker - just curious as to why not have an onboard place for all accessories in a product who's main feature is . . . to have everything in a single package ;-)

I ordered the complete camera mounting system with the shorter Steadicam mast, the tripod holder, C-stand clamps, cable hooks, the 5/8" baby pin mast adapter, and the case.
