  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Group Buy - Inovativ Carts!!

Quick question before I send my config to INOVATIV...

Can anyone shed some light on what the difference is between the 5/8" Baby Pin system vs the 5/8" Baby Pin Mast Riser system? It seems like the difference is that the mast has a higher load capacity, and gets affixed to a crossbar instead of clamped onto one of the four posts. I just wanna put my OSEE monitor on my cart-----which of course came from another one of Chris' awesome group buys :)

+1,

I want to have a simple utility baby pin mount that will fit inside the 37" and that can support the Osee 17 that I also have.

I ordered the 5/8 baby pin system for just that...a monitor mount. They changed it from once being steel, to solid aluminum, to cut down on the weight as well as to prevent damage during shipment, since the steel rods were puncturing the cardboard boxes.

They haven't done any load tests, since this is a recent implementation, but in speaking with their team, they are confident that you could put quite a bit of weight and not have any issues. The rod wouldn't snap, the baby pin would bend before anything else, so theoretically it wouldn't fall to the ground.

Other thing to think of too is that with the 5/8 baby pin system, mounted in one of the posts, have the wait towards the cart, as opposed to facing away from the cart, which would put more stress on the rod.

The full mast riser system does support more weight, though it's much beefier, but you should be fine with the 5/8 basic system...it's what I have, just haven't had any time to test it.

Paging Bob Gundu . . . we need one of your World Class Product Reviews to unravel this product application and accessories!!! ;-)

Ha ha. I'm swamped! Plus I don't have a cart yet. But I will say I have a couple other video reviews coming out soon.

I'll shoot a little video tomorrow (Friday) of a walk around of the cart with the 5/8 baby pin system and the 5/8 mast riser system for u guys since I have both. will also show the case too.

Chris you're awesome!!! Thank you sir.

I won't publicly shame them, but I know who it was, and the GB is now closed. It's because of that person that Inovativ is now having to do damage control. It's things like this that tarnishes all potential/future group buys and the hefty discounts we could get.

Huge bummer! Sad we can't have nice things for the actions of a few, glad that didn't kill the deal for everyone.

Had been meaning to jump in before original deadline, sad I won't be able to take part now. But thanks for making another great group buy, Chris.

In case this helps anyone ... (I'm sure Patrick would be ok with me sharing his wisdom on this)

"As far as the tripod system... the off the shelf version does fit, but once you add the 5/8 baby pin mast adapter you will no longer be able to fit the system inside the cart when closed. We can always cut the mast to shorten it just enough to fit. This will not cost any extra...you just need to notify me or the sales rep when you officially place the order."

(this was regarding a 37" sized Scout)

Thx! So you do need extra Cross Braces for the Mast options. Umbrella too?

Hoping to see all the Monitor mounting options in action. The mystery continues . . .

Cross braces are included. the standard 5/8 baby pin system will suffice for mounting monitors.

I figured I wanted to mount my
- Movi
- Alta
- camera
- laptop or monitor
- carry a tripod

So ended up ordering
2 x 5/8 Baby Pin - Mast Riser System
2 x 5/8 Baby Pin System

I'll use a Baby Pin to Cheese Plate to Toad QuickRelease to mount my ALTA on to one of the Baby Pin Mast Riser Systems and the MoVi Baby Pin hangers for the other Mast system.
I also ordered the DigiSystem Lite Starter Bundle to mount my MacBook or 21" monitor to one of the Baby Pin Systems and will have one spare to mix and match.
And have the 3" Cable Hooks + Tough as well and still might get the umbrella clamp for some shade.
Just really need all this to fit in the cart when collapsed and traveling.

Anyone see any issues with this gear?
Inovativ really need a better website with better photos of how the accessories interface with the card and pack down.
A 3D interactive build your own cart online system would be wicked, like an Ikea kitchen tool :-)

This is with the 5/8 baby pin system and the 5/8 Mast Riser System. Video being uploaded now. Personally, I really like how the RED color plays off the Ronin/Epic. Looks amazing!

Hi Chris, you not running the MoVi anymore? And do you run this mattebox with a screw-in filter on the lens like in your pictures?

I'm guessing that the cart with all those accessories won't all fit inside the cart's enclosure for traveling. Mine is jam-packed and I have only 1 of each of those accessories.

I still run both - MoVI and Ronin, but the Ronin for extra heavy setups. Using the Wooden Camera MB along with a full line of Nisi ND's/Soft grads and Polarizer for gimbal work. Now also using Mamiya Medium format glass as well. It is pure goodness! Not running the Tiffen Vari ND anymore...loving how pure the Nisi ND line is. MUCH better!!!

yeah I stopped using Vari ND as well. Just to many flare issues and didn't make sense to cripple a high quality lens.
