If you are taking any stragglers, I'll take
1 Hornet 200-C with Reflector and barndoors, and a fresnel attachment. Also a v-lock if not included.

If no can do, no problem.

Hi All,

Just wanted to thank everyone who participated in the Group Buy! Nick will be putting up the final list of backers on the front page of the forum in a couple days, Abel is currently in process of receiving everyones emails from Nick and myself and will be reaching out soon as well. Also as reminder you can make your final decision on accessories after Abel contacts you and when you are placing your final order with them, in the mean time be sure to send in your email addresses to you us.

Cheers,

Jon Miller

Hey guys, master list has been updated, as well as instructions on how to finalize, etc.

Thanks everyone for a great group buy!

Ordered and paid! Are these shipping immediately? Abelcine's website is super vague.

I requested mine for pickup at Able Cine Brooklyn -- I got an email notice yesterday that my partial order was ready for pickup (just the lights, not accessories). When I was picking them up, it sounded like it would be a few days or a week for the accessories... I was in a rush though, so didn't press for specifics. I'd trust whatever Jon says on here, rather than what I heard :)

Excited to start playing and testing these over the next few days! Thanks Jon and Nick! :cheers2:

Not part of the group buy but ordered one directly from CVP in the UK as I guess with shipping and import duty I'd not save anything. Bought the fresnel kit and will try to source the reflector separately. I currently have an Aputure Light Dome so have bought a profoto to bowens adapter for now.

Anyone got any idea what size hard case would fit the Hornet 200-C?

Hi all,

We began getting the orders in from Abel Cine last week and have begun shipping to Abel. Depending on the order size, accessories, shipping location or picking up from the store etc. I would expect that most orders will take between 1 - 3 weeks to arrive from order placement with Abel. Some may be faster but I would urge everyone who has not yet placed their order to do so soon so that we can ensure as minimal a delay in delivery as possible. Finally there are still a few backer who have not sent their contact information in to Sales@hivelighting.com, please do this ASAP so that Abel can contact you.

Cheers,

Jon

Mods please feel free to delete if this veers too far off topic, but for Jon or those who have received their lights: considering the "700-1000W incandescent equivalent", would I be correct in assuming that the light is its brightest (1000W equivalent) say at white (around 5600K), and then if a deep rich colour you're still sending out 700W equivalent of light?

Thanks.

Just thinking ahead of delivery for a softbox or small octa box.

Thinking Profoto to Bowens mount adapter and the Aputure Light Dome II or Light Dome Mini 2.

Are there any native Profoto mount softboxes or octa boxes as fast to put up/take down as the Aputure ones that don't cost the Earth?

I bought this guy when I was still doing photography back in the day. Great build quality, great quality of light and really easy to set up - the rods are colour coded so it's easy to attach to the speedring. They also have them in 4' and 5' sizes.

Profoto 3' RFi Octa Softbox
Profoto RFi Speed Ring for Profoto Flash Heads

Actually, the ability to work with my Profoto gear is a big reason why I thought the Hives would be great as my next lighting addition... alas I was late to the GB.

Thanks Homer but that requires both a speedring AND to be built each time.

The new Aputure boxes (albeit being Bowens mount) and stuff like the Wescott Rapid box just open up in a couple of seconds. That definitely appeals for some of the jobs I do.

Oooh I wasn't sure which Aputure box you meant. The last one I worked with still had to be assembled and it was a pain in the butt. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.
