  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

GROUP BUY: Hive 200-C

Have these units gone out yet? I paid over 2 weeks ago, I'm near the top of the list and I haven't even gotten a shipping notification.
 
Looks like I missed this GB. Anyone change their minds? I'd take your spot. Thanks.

Same situation here. Just heard back from Abelcine to my latest inquiry: "They fulfilled 2 orders within the first week, and have not delivered any units since. We are in communication with HIVE every day, and their follow up responses are vague."
 
Update from AbelCine:
A HIVE representative reached out to us today with an update. They expect to start fulfilling Group Buy back orders in 2 weeks. This would be approximately October 15th/16th. They did not specify if this included all accessories.

Hi All,

Just wanted to give a shipping update. We received our first invoices from AbelCine for the units early September and begin to fill orders them as they came in. We then started a run of 100 units (this usually takes about 8 weeks to complete) with the idea that we would be refilling our inventory after fulfilling orders from RedUser and other customers in September.

However due to a variety of factors we had not expected we received a large number of stocking and restocking orders from a wide variety of dealers worldwide, especially in response to and in anticipation of the large trade shows in Europe in early and middle September. Which in short sold us out of stock by mid-Sept. almost immediately after which we received POs from Abel for majority of the RedUser orders. With this in mind we attempted to accelerate production on the run of 100 units, but some components could only be pushed so much. Currently we are waiting on two key components, one of which is the lumen radio chips, both are scheduled to arrive next week, at which time full production can begin. We assume that by the week of the 15th we will have or be in the process of shipping most if not all of the units for the RedUser fulfillment along with backorders for other dealers etc.

I apologize for the inconvenience and I will of course keep you up to date if timelines shift but fulfillment should pick up rapidly after next week.

What about accessories?

Able seems to be unable to get a clear answer from your team about a timeline on the accessories.

Are the rings, cables, and third-party soft boxes also affected by the lumen radio chip & other component delays?

No thankfully no electronics in speed rings, but we are consolidating most accessory shipments together to go with the lights when they ship. If there were backordered accessory items they would ship at the same time.

Thanks for the updates Jon.

Can you please ensure our accessories go out to AbleCine NYC right away then? There is nothing to consolidate for our order... We were one of the lucky two orders, but haven't been able to use our lights because no accessories have been delivered yet. Just the core lights. We need the rings, boxes, d-tap cables, etc to actually put the lights to use on set... and Brittany has heard nothing clear from your team.

I would really appreciate you stepping in and this issue getting your direct attention, given where we're at on the calendar now.

I just wanted to chime in, I bought 5 of these when they first came out (at full price) and they are absolutely phenomenal. It is such a joy to be able to dial in exactly what you want, and pack such a punch, in a light that is so small and easy to modify.

AbelCine advised that bulk orders should be sent to them this week for distribution to GB participants. Unsure about the accessories.

I do hope it happens soon, tying ones cash up for two months is disheartening especially when jobs are present where these lights can be effective.

Due to the long delays and lack of any response from Hive I have cancelled my order. AbleCine issued a refund within minutes of my request, very professional.
 
I checked in on my order on Abel’s site today and it looks like it got shipped out yesterday. I didn’t get any delivery notifications, which is unusual. But it looks like they are starting to go out. I placed my order on Sep 11.
 
I got mine!! I just unboxed it, haven't even fired it up yet, all my accessories were packaged inside the main box.

I realize I need to also order the adapter to allow me to connect the pull pin battery plate to the mafer clamp, since trying to bolt two v mounts to the head is going to make this too top heavy. Where do I find the adapter to mafer?
 
Oh, just saw the IG video and it looks like I just need to figure out what screws to use to convert the battery bracket to be direct to a mafer instead. What would be rad would be some bracket that would connect to a single mafer but then go out like a big T shape to enable the plates to clip on using the same system as the yoke.

Over 2 months since close of GB and it'll still be a few weeks once Abel receives the shipment then ships it to us...

2 months is rough to hand out your money then wait, but think you'll be surprised at how well it was worth the wait. We've been using these as our primary lights for the past few months. Powerful amazingly versatile little lights.
 
I am thinking of purchasing this light, would love to get any feedback from those who got their units and have put the light through its paces.
