I see your point Shervin, but that may be lost in translation/ambiguity issue. Because its not consistent with what he said before that. "You must first email your order request to sale@camera-video-broadcast.com, with the following information:"

"Orders" could mean your email request. Also, dispelling the pay full price first question: How can you pay an invoice before you have been sent one?

This definitely needs some clarity, as I can see the hang up.

Yeah, it does seem like "orders" is your email request stating the points of information he needs to verify if the paypal accounts are real. I think he is trying to protect himself from possibility of bogus emails generated from a few people to get his discount. I agree with Brandon, not a bad idea.

I notice a lot of wobble in the shot, especially rounding the corners.... any particular reason for this? Was it not balanced perfectly, or was the shot just rushed a bit? How does this unit compare with the more expensive Steadicam and Glidecams in terms of balance? Thanks!

I really hope that we can at least get some HD-SDI + HDMI and Power run through the sled. I understand if they aren't willing to completely redo their rig as it's extremely well priced but certain modifications which are less demanding such as wiring the rigs would definitely be something I would love to see. The only other major tweak would be stronger/better springs and ways to adjust tension but I understand if that's not possible at this price-point.

Just one take, RUSHed,, RUSHed,, and more RUSHed (lol)

terms of balance, check following link

Me too! :) Here's hopin .... (got nothing to lose with an email order request)

I think we should operate through one guy, David. He set it up.

That's the rationale of a group buy.

This email coming through is a dirty signal as far as I am concerned (and should have been filtered through David).

edit:

Consider the savings you might get on the CAME uncertain going forward until this ambiguity is resolved. Also consider the cost of setting up the rig optimally for our cameras an expense that may exceed the savings we (may) receive from CAME.

I agree with your logic Brett. I'm hoping David or anyone can grab the reigns on this and move the original plan forward. Once centralized line of communication is better. But this process may have been flawed by design with this many unanswered questions and delays in communication.

At the end of the day, I know at least for myself I have a time deadline on when I need the gear. That's why I contacted him directly to get some LED lights and inquired on the Steadycam progress for us REDUSERs, he seemed frustrated at the delay in consensus or (maybe other emails inquiries with part requests) and he asked me to forward his email.

I like playing follow the leader on group buys, but this one is was as I feared - seller and buyers have a disconnect. And it's costing some people time and money

Fair comment on the timeframe - I also had similar thoughts. The line of communication between David and the buyer seems a bit average, for whatever reason (my guess is language barriers).

Indeed Brett very true, as far as my communication with him goes, I'm just buying what already exists. David's hard work and efforts with summoning an army to get a custom made ideal for all of us should still be underway and perhaps needs to be completely rehashed with the seller from intro to conclusion, as from the few email exchanges I had with him: he didn't seem to have much comprehension of what we're requesting as a block buy. I don't think it's anyone's fault necessarily, but the oven was waay too cold for me to try to bake anything there.

I will personally be waiting for David's report on what the manufacturer will do to accommodate customized connectivity and features. From my perspective, things have moved along as swift as I would reasonably expect, and I read the communication Edreace posted as reflecting a desire by the manufacturer to try and get the benefits of the group buy without implementing any custom features, maximizing profit. But it also dilutes the leverage of the group buy if a bunch of people decide to cut losses and get the thing as is. I understand for those customers who really, really need it yesterday, but I hope the vast majority stay with the wonderful program David has initiated so that we can get the best possible product.

Paging Kwan: don't want to nag, but can you comment on my previous question re your impressions of the rig's comfort, load distribution/pressure points on the body, and the amount of time you felt you could have worn it without major fatigue?

Great points Elizabeth. Some can wait, others can't. At this point there is an open door for the immediate and direct option(given by the seller himself), but that shouldn't take away from the power of the custom-build lobby as long as people have the time to wait. We are loosely-unified in our interest for the item, but we vary when it comes to the timeframe vs ideal - ratio. That's really whats gonna cause the inevitable polarization with this murky scenario.
