  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Group Buy: Budget CRI 95 LED Strip Lights

Quick Update:

I'm still not caught up on PMs and emails yet.

We have gone from needing to find buyers for 73 controllers down to 58 now and I still have a lot more people to talk to. I don't expect there to be any delays from this.

I had a long call with a fulfillment company today. I have another call setup for tomorrow with them as well. They will handle all US orders. This will greatly speed up how fast your orders get sent out to you.

If you are in the US and you want to get tubes you can check out Amazon. Just make sure the tubes are big enough for 10mm strips. That will get you started. Here's the link: http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss_2?url=node=5486421011&field-keywords=LED+strip

I'm doing everything I can to get orders out at warp speed once the controllers are ready. If needed, I'll even delay the feature I'm doing to get everything out before we start filming. No one wants this be done faster than I do, believe me :)

DO NOT DELAY YOUR FEATURE

Your an artist first. An artist that started an incredible snowball of events that has now brought us to the very close in sight finish line.
A product was developed before our eyes and it looks to be BA.
I'm chomping at the bit for these bad boys and am hoping to add to my order.
I know the wait is going to be worth it, this whole process has been very transparent. With very creative additions to fabrication and implementation from members of this community.
Big thank you, very excited to see what else is in store for us.

Thanks for the support guys.

Update:

Everything that has already arrived (lights, kits, etc.) will be shipped to the fulfillment company over the next week. Starting on Saturday it's all getting barcoded and boxed up. Once the controllers are done, everything will be shipped out to you very fast.

Also, the finished controllers they are sending me to sign off on have been assembled and tested. Everything is looking good. Due to the holidays though (labor day), they won't go out until Tuesday. I should have them late next week. Very excited!

I've been on the phone coordinating all this for hours and it's almost 3am here. I need to call it a day. I will answer all your PMs and emails this weekend. I'm sorry for the delays with that. I have lots of time this weekend for all this.

I will also send out an email update to everyone from the new email address I setup for this stuff. There won't be any problems with email after this.

If you want to add more lights (or controllers) to your order, PM me ASAP.

Please let us know if you send out mails regarding shipping invoices. Thanks!

I will definitely post here when everyone is emailed about shipping.

I'm still not finished contacting everyone on the waiting list about lights and controllers. Been getting everything organized with the fulfillment company (barcodes, merging orders, etc).

Please provide an update, important to us to have lights or refund or confirmed date of dispatch. thanks,

The latest update is 4 posts above yours.

I just got confirmation that 2 final sample controllers were sent to me today to sign off on. The first run lights and kits are being sent to the fulfilment company this week to prepare for shipping. Since most of you have multiple orders, everything is being merged together (manually, unfortunately) to save you on shipping. Everything is still on target to ship late this month.

I'd like to know what "4 channels' means regarding the controller. Does it mean we can control up to 4 different lights 'differentially' (i.e. different settings for each light)?

Someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but the controller has global settings. If you change the brightness or color temp, it makes that adjustment to all attached light strips. You can't change them individually with this controller.

I think "4 channels" means it can support up to 4 fixed light strips or 2 variable light strips.

Correct.

I'm also wondering how we can power "up to 4 channels at 10 amps"... can we connect more than one power supply to the controller?

Please PM me about additional controllers and LED strips. This has been a long, worthwhile journey. Thanks Brandon.

Update: The tracking details say I'll have the final controller samples in my hands on Monday. Very excited!

I think you can connect multiple power supplies in parallel to do this, but the ideal method would be to use a larger power supply.

Sending you a PM right now.

.
Larger power supplies seem to have fans most of the time, so being able to connect multiple power supplies in parallel might be something interesting to consider too... Like multiple 150W power supplies, which are not too big and are fanless (I'm using one right now).

To run 4 strips at a time what kind of power supply would you need? Brandon or anyone. How many watts/amps is each full variable 5 meter stip? Thanks

Jean- do you mean to power 4 single color strips or 2 variable color 5 meter strips ? What would the wattage/amps be for two variable strips?
