  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Group Buy: Budget CRI 95 LED Strip Lights

Wow... missed a couple weeks of posts and all this happened:

1. Another delay announced,

2. Some angry/disbelieving people,

3. The word 'scam' being thrown around,

4. Brandon almost says the thing that rhymes with bucket,

5. Many people rise up in support of him,

6. He explains that the group buy has to be opened up to more people,

7. But he also explains that the controllers have evolved through several redesigns based on people's suggestions,

8. Which means better specs than the competition at market-disrupting prices,

9. All this communicated on a public forum by a personable central figure who posts informative past-midnight progress reports while personally handling everything from answering everyone’s questions to coordinating engineering, R&D, sales and distribution...

This reminds me so much of Red in the early days! Go Brandon!

P.S. My vote is also for option 1.

It's not really a refund. I'm buying your lights. Money is on the way.

I need to find a buyer for your stuff. Shouldn't be a problem. Give me a few days.

I've been in dark about this GB and would love to take over someone's order for some rolls and controllers. If you're looking to pass them on let me know!

Good news!

The modified controller casing is DONE and assembly has started. They will send me a few final units in a couple days. Once I sign off on them, we are ready to start our production run. We are very close!

Thanks for the support, Manfred. I really appreciate it.

PM me your email, Mark. I'll get you on the list.

Some pages back someone was asking if the controller box will be made from bent metal or a cast design. What was the final decision on that?

It's bent metal. No time for casting. It's rock solid as it is and not needed.

Hey Brandon, good going, it is tough to be the guy in the middle, but if everybody could have a bit of patience there is going to be a great payoff. If any of you really want to see what misery is, read through the Bsteady 4 thread.

Yeah, this is not that :)

It's also worth mentioning that nearly every single design and feature suggestion you guys have asked for has been implemented.

You guys wanted it to support a 40 amp load... DONE.

You wanted the terminals to be recessed/covered.... DONE.

You didn't want any of the PCB to be exposed... DONE.

Low mode... DONE.

Wireless and Local controls... DONE. (2 types)

One unit for both fixed color temp and variable/hybrid strips... DONE. (this cuts your costs in half)

Flicker free at high frame rates.... DONE.

I could go on... :)

Building a quality product from scratch in only a few months is not easy. Nothing like this exists on the market right now and piecing it together would cost you at least 10x what you are paying for this unit.

I'm very confident you will all be very happy once you get these in your hands.

Let's finish this race :D

Put your faith in Brandon. I have, and so far he has exceeded my expectations.

:)

Brandon is not scared of the dark....the dark is scared of Brandon.

Brandon does not do push ups...he pushes the earth down.

Brandon, these look great! I'm so looking forward to it! Well done already on everything. Controlling the crowd, handling the GB, and especially the product - though I'll wait with my praise until I have these, but they look more than promising! ;)

RED had similar issues when planning delivery dates, and then production and improvements caused delays... You're in good company. ;)

The end goal is in sight! Push on Brandon!!

I'm catching up on PMs and emails today. I'll post an updated count for the controllers tonight. The next group buy will be in August, but there will be a small additional run of lights, so if you want in PM me. I am contacting everyone on the waiting list about this. We need to do this to get our controller count up to the minimum. We are 90% there already, so we won't have any problem getting there if we go this route.
