  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Group Buy: Budget CRI 95 LED Strip Lights

Brandon - Just found my email and everything looks great. AS I lloyd back at my order, I see that I also ordered power supplies, a power kit and connector kits. Since I can't recall exactly what they all do (I'll have to go back and re-read the thread - lol), I'll just ask, are all of those things still relevant in relatively equal numbers, even with the new controllers?

And thanks for what looks to be a terrific product at an equally terrific price!

Nothing has changed with the power supplies, but I put a hold on the order so that I can test everything out thoroughly with the new controller first. I don't expect there to be any problems, but I want to be sure. I'm also testing a larger power supply for people who want to push their controllers to the max.

The power and connector kits will get you all setup to run the fixed color temp lights off batteries. The variable color temp strips need the controller which will be available until March.

Just curious Brandon, for the second GB, can the manufacturer make a weather resistant version of these strips?
For example:
https://www.myled.com/p5668-led-fle...-ip67-casing-pipe-natural-white-dc12v-5m.html

There seems to be 3 different levels of weatherproofing for some strips IP65 (epoxy), IP67(casing pipe), IP68 (silicon tube encapsulation) Of course weatherproof connectors would be required also :)

If that's a possible option, I'll certainly be down for some!

Yes, it's possible if enough people are interested. You will need special connectors for them also.

Anyone else want waterproof strips?

I received a lot of email today after last night's update. So far everyone, without exception, wants the new controllers (not surprising). I'm working through them one-by-one. I have 86 more to go, which I'll get to tomorrow. Time to call it a night for me.

I'm in for one if that's happening.

I don't think a Sekonic C-700 group buy is likely. Products like this tend to not get discounted. It also appears to be out of stock everywhere already.

Update!

14 cases of LED strip lights arrived today!

On Monday the last box arrives to complete the kits. After all the controller upgrades are dealt with I will email everyone and ask who wants to take shipment of their lights now. Lights and Kits will be ready to ship starting Monday. Power supplies will be ready soon after they have been fully tested with the new controllers. The delay is to make sure the power supplies have no problems with the high PWM frequency of the controllers and to test some high power options. The new controllers will be ready in March. A number of you wrote me asking if it all can be sent at once in March and that's fine.

(If you want to be eligible for possible beta testing, then I would suggest you take delivery of your lights and kits now...)

<----- Ready for BETA Test Please

I just finished another few hours of emails. I'll be back at it tomorrow. If you haven't gotten a reply, I apologize. I have had over 200 emails to go through about the controllers. I should be able to get through them all this weekend. Thanks for your patience.

Just to clarify, do those of us who want the new 'Solaris Ctrl+' controllers instead of the original budget controllers have to send you a message saying so now (so our orders can be changed), or does that happen later?

I got the e-mail about the new 'Solaris Ctrl+' controller, (which looks good, thanks for that), but I haven't seen anything explicitly stating when and how we should order them or change our current orders to include them.

Definitely, now. Anyone who wants the upgrade should email me now about it. Email is preferable to forum posts or PMs so it's easier to organize.

I just sent an email out to everyone about early delivery of fixed color temp strips and kits. If you want yours early check out the email and get back to me ASAP.

Thanks!
