  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Group Buy: Budget CRI 95 LED Strip Lights

I'm working on that accessories update still.

The 12 volt AC power supplies that will be available look something like this:

The picture I posted yesterday is another option, but probably a little too DIY for most set use.

I will have some good news on the controller/dimmer front today as well...

Only 20 away from our stretch goal!

Interested in 3, maybe 4 variables plus the same number of controllers & double the number of connectors, depending on the cost of the accessories and shipping to London, UK.

Just thought of a possible problem.

Is your supplier specifying a minimum order of 500m of EACH type? Or 500m of any mix of types as I think we've all been assuming?

To minimize costs, EU orders will be sent from inside Europe. US orders will be sent from inside the US.

We're getting a great deal on accessories too...

Interested in 1 daylight, 1 tungsten, 1 variable and possibly controllers and power supplies. Thanks for organizing this group buy!

Brandon - I'll probably be minimum 2 varis - then maybe 2 daylight and 2 tungsten.

A lot depends on the controller (cost vs quality) as the output seems a lot higher on the varis...

My unofficial math says we might be at about 198... a few more for safety???!!!

That's great news!

UPDATE: This is a go! We have a custom flicker free dimmer that will be available for under $50.

Dimmer/Controller News

I talked to a company today with an existing product they can modify to work for film/video and do a special run of for us. The minimum quantity will be at least 50 of each type (fixed, variable). That shouldn't be a problem considering our numbers. They showed me a video of it working and there was absolutely no flicker.

I'm waiting for a reply about how quick they can get me a sample to test. The price should come in under my target price of $50. There are a few other options I'm working on, but this is the most promising lead for a quick quality controller/dimmer on a budget.

Awesome! Stretch goal met!

Last call!

Mine was 2 vari plus 2 t and 2 D - might change to more vari depending on dimmer etc. ;)

Edit - but should be 6 rolls (don't make me choose final combo yet!). LOL
