Hey everyone, I'm back with a second group buy with OSEE for their awesome 21.5" HDR production monitor. OSEE production monitors have been a popular choice for the last few years, terrific quality at a great price. I've had mine for a few months now – it's a wonderful monitor, perfect for on-set use even in sunlight, accurate colours and contrast. Overall really happy with it.

The website i found, oseedirect, is pretty light on any actual details that would convince me that this is a good monitor. It says

Color Space: ITU709, EBU, SMPTE-C, Native, P3, ITU2020

But how much of those colourspaces it can handle is just not mentioned. Nothing does full 2020 at this kind of price does it?

I'm looking for a colour accurate monitor in this size range but an awful lot of pro-sumer monitors are very good at 709/P3 and at the end of the day it's largely down to the panels. 10 bit IPS panels are not that unusual either.

So more technical detail is needed to be able to make a decision...

Thanks for setting this up William. Curious how the color compares to their 17". I've had the 17" for a while now and love it. Wish this kit included the screen protector though. Couldn't imagine using this on set without one. Clients always poking.

You can add whatever accessories you like when you do your order! When I hand over transaction to OSEE you can add whatever you like. I got a cheeseplate last time. Should have gotten protector too!

I haven't used the 17", I've used the 15" which I believe is a similar 300 nit monitor. This 21.5" brightness and contrast is a pretty big upgrade, especially if using in daylight. Before I had to use shades in my office with 15", not anymore with the 21.5". Here's a pic from yesterday. Huge windows directly right of frame. Monitor is only at backlight level 4.
